  Amazing stay again

  This was the second time for me at Hotel Barracuda and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was perfect, stunning location in a fantastic island as l'Elba and lovely renovations. All the staff has been always really helpful, available and polite. Size of room simply perfect for me and my girlfriend.

  Unforgettable vacation in Barracuda Hotel

  I booked this hotel for my Italian holiday in August last summer, 2017. I always wanted to go to Elba and this couldn't have been a better option. The entire hotel was very nicely and modern decorated and indeed I came to understand afterwards that the owner had it completely renewed the year before. The rooms are kneet, bright and very comfortable. We were staying at the first floor in one of the room with a huge wallpaper that gave the ambient a more summerish flavor. The Hotel is literally next to the beach, however, it has a beautiful swimming pool and tropical garden if you feel like staying in the hotel premises. The tropical garden felt very rural and you felt one with the nature - it was simply peaceful and amazing. The Hotel organises every Thursday candle light dinner by the pool, which is a must. The restaurant provided authentic traditional italian dishes and every night there was a different menu to try different things from - I literally didnt know what to pick because everything was delicious! I highly recommend this if you plan your trip to Elba or Tuscany (worth going to the island)! I will definitely come back next summer.

  Far from good

  The pool was nice and quiet, in our room the bathroom has been renovated and this was nicely done. The bed in the room was the worst I ever had in a 4 star hotel. It was like sleeping on a bench. The restaurant experience was far from good. The maitre came to take your order and put a paper on your table with your chose. You can first choose your appetisers on the buffet. I was still eating from my plate with appetisers when the waiter checked the paper with our order on our table. A couple of seconds later he was back with our first course. The maitre removed my plate with appetisers. I was still eating from this!!! I was really shocked that this happened. On holiday you dont want to be treated like this. The food always came out of the kitchen straight after the waiter checked the paper on the tables. This means that the food isnt freshly made and just waits in the kitchen to come out. I never had in my life such a bed experience in a 4 star hotel.

  The nicest hotel

  In our opinion, the Barracuda hotel is the nicest hotel in all Marina di Campo. The garden and the pool area are overwhelming. The huge palm groves provide wonderful shade for the pool area and sitting areas. Also exclusive are the weekly pool dinners with live music. Just genius! Unfortunately, the rooms are quite small. And the food is delicious and spicy . We will gladly come again.

  Beautiful hotel with small tradeoffs

  We stayed three nights in this hotel and had a wonderful time - the location is stunning and very relaxing, green plants everywhere, huge pool, sitting areas, skybeds everywhere, a nice bar nearby the pool - it really looks like straight out of a magazine. The food at the restaurant (we booked half board) is exceptional, you always get to choose from several dinner types prepared which are served without long waiting times. In another review I read that someone complained about that and that this would mean its not freshly made - it is, if you are around the pool area you can smell all the nice cents from the restaurant when they prepare everything for the dinner some time later that day. Food always looked like we are in a michelin star restaurant and was tasty. Special requests were not a problem. There are only two small tradeoffs you have to make - rooms are very functional and not very big in size (but having such a nice hotel area you anyway only stay there to sleep) and the plastic sunlounger at the pool are very uncomfortable and look quite old. Recommendation to the owner - exchange those flat sunloungers with new, more comfortable ones and its a 10/10. :-) Prices in this hotel for food, snacks or drinks at the bar etc. are very cheap compared to what we've experienced in all the other hotels before on our trip through Italy. As for Covid measures, we felt safe at any point in time. Everyone is wearing masks, everyone keeps distance and you can see the hotel staff disinfecting every surfaces daily. Breakfast is served at a very nice location outdoors nearby the pool, dinner at an outside pavillon (if you're lucky, we were) or partially inside. In total, we had a great time here and it was the perfect apex and ending of our summer trip. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
