  Good hotel in the heart of Düsseldorf

  I stayed here on business. The hotel is located centrally and in walking distance of the main train station. Further, it is directly in the Japanese quarter. Management of the hotel is also Japanese. The Japanese influence can also be seen in the decor of the room and having a pants-press in the room also. The pants-press is a nice touch, which you hardly see in European hotels. Rooms are specious, modern and very clean. Would recommend!

  Nightmare at hiot temperatures

  I had a room on 8th floor from 25.27.06.2019. The room had no air conditioning and room temperatures where constantly far beyond 30°C. Opening windows was possible only until 4:30 a.m.. Afterwards the traffic from main street was quite noisy. In addition the shower when put to cold water was only dripping, so I had the choice between hot water and extremely hot water. The room door seal was either defect or inexisting and there was frequent clacking.

  Not Japanese

  Its called Asahi but thats all whats Japanese. Lobby is shabby and the bathrooms are bad, no amenities and when you shower, the whole bathroom turns into a swimmingpool. Ashame they kept the Japanese name.

  Disappointed

  Ive stayed here many times. Always good. This time was not pleasant. Positives are that staff are welcoming, breakfast is good. However, this time my room was poor. Mould in the shower, broken shower head holder, shower going hot/warm while on same setting, water leaking under the shower door (half door as this was a shower in a bath). Also the fridge in the room made a very loud vibrating sound and I could not access the plug to turn the fridge off. Didnt feel rested at all the next day.

  Hybrid Japanese Hotel in Germany...

  A Customer from Japan booked the Hotel and guess what? It was Asahi, in the Japanese area of Dusseldorf. The hotel is ok (I say ok, not good) but you feel a bit out of place unless you are not from Tokyo or Osaka. At least myself, I couldn't understand half of the food in the breakfast buffet; for non-Japanese, it is average but not fantastic, I would give a 6-. Worth if you are coming from Japan and you want to keep a bit of home feeling. Be aware, you don't get this feeling at the lobby: it's very shabby.
