Unique and interesting hotel, but geared for kids and familiesOverall a really nice hotel--especially if you have kids. The art theme is quite unique and distinctive. The rooms are decent and quite comfortable for a few nights' stay. Nothing fancy, but clean and functional. Staff are really friendly. I liked the free snack bar in the lobby, especially the 3 different types of awamori, and many varieties of tea. The breakfast buffet has a lot of different items, but the quality is so-so. There is a kid's play area in the lounge/breakfast area so it can get noisy when you're trying to eat. The location is great: less than a block to international street and the markets; about 3 blocks to Miebashi monorail station. There are a fair number of 'tourist' restaurants nearby (Starbucks is on the corner); for more local places you'll have to walk a few blocks north of Miebashi for a selection. The entrance off the street is very small, so look carefully for the sign! Lobby is downstairs.

Good location with 24hrs coffee stationThe hotel is close to Kokusai-Dori, step away from Starbucks, and easy to reach from a monorail station. However, if you rent a car, you have to find parking which will not be free, and it is quite expensive if you use the Times's parking service, which is opposite the hotel. We would recommend the "Yamato" parking service nearby. We cannot find the hotel at first. Because the hotel entrance is in the basement, the staff is friendly, and the 24hrs coffee station is suitable for the rainy day. We picked this hotel due to we would like to support the foundation that the hotel involved in Thailand and interested to see the painting from those kids. The room is the right size for 2. Please be aware if you do not like to be in the tight and narrow space ie. a small lift and low ceiling, then we think you should avoid this hotel.

Location and facilities! This place is not luxurious at all nor very modern. It is playful, slightly kitschy and practical. Pros: 1) Location! Close to the action and therefore perfect for mid-day stops back at the hotel to put down our shopping, have a toilet break and a drink at the free drinks bar. 2) Drinks bar! Free! 24 hours! This really adds value to a stay here. 3) Spacious common seating area. This also adds value because it gives you somewhere to sit with others (other than your room) and enjoy food and drinks together. Although we didnt bring food in to eat, we saw many people doing so and this seemed acceptable. 4) Spacious room (for Japan). Lots of space to put luggage etc. Where they skimp on is the size of the bathroom, which was fine with us. 5) Strong, good shower. Gets full marks from me. 6) The double wooden windows were very effective as blackouts. 7) Many items can be borrowed from the front desk - from oil diffusers to bicycles. 8) Charitable support for HIV childrens home in Thailand. Cons: 1) Hard pillows (felt like they had straw in them, Im not kidding) 2) Rooms are a little worn (paint peeling from the edges of the cabinets). 3) Air con gave off a musty smell when we turned it on the first night. Seemed better by the second night though. Either that or we got used to it.

Good locationThe highlight of the hotel is the location for sure, its just 1 minute from Kokusai-Dori. However it feels a bit dated for the price paid, walls are peeling and stained and the bedsheet had a stain on it at check in. Staff were polite and efficient. The location is probably the main reason to stay here, for the convenience of the monorail and the shopping street.

Fantastic location but AVOID Rooms ending with 6 (I stayed in #506)I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and I was very unfortunate to get room 506. This is facing the street versus rooms ending in Odd numbers are facing the back so you get a view of some greenery and no hotel is facing into your room. But as for room 506 there is a very inexpensive hostel (about 1,000 yen a night) that has several floors with a shared balcony to brush your teeth, dry your hair, smoke etc. and my bed was clearly visible to all the guests hanging out at that hostel. It was extremely uncomfotable to see people staring into your room as WBF has no tinted windows. If you stay at this hotel I strongly suggest getting thats not facing the street. One of the features I loved about this hotel is the free self serve cold drinks, Okinawan awamore. soups, coffee etc. that was available in the dining lounge. But due to Covid19 you will have to ask the front desk staff to come around and pour you a drink... its just too inconvenient if you want to enjoy a few different Awamore sake items. I didn't use the lounge at all during my 4 day stay. But there are wonderful aspoects of this hotel. The location is absolutely central, the front desk staff is so nice, 24 hour parking is only 1,200 yen with in/out priviledge and they have free bike rentals. I will definitely stay at WBF again but never facing the street. One slightly negative point. The rooms are older and paint chipping on both the walls and furniture. Unsure if the large paintings covering the entire wall are meant to have stains but didn't seem to clean.
