Nice hotel - pity about the ownerWe spent 5 nights at this hotel and it was rather like being in Fawlty Towers. Let's get the bad news out first. The owner is miserable and mean and has no idea how to run a hotel. On arrival, we were told abruptly not to bring the suitcases through his main door. We four then sat down for a drink in an empty bar and he insisted we sat outside. I asked him to charge the drinks to the room but no can do, I had to pay. He had a credit card machine on the bar but insisted on cash. The aircon was turned off permanently after 2 days (even though it is featured as an amenity) and the heated towel rails were deliberately tied up not to work! We wanted to buy some beer to take up and drink on our balcony but no, that was forbidden. After a row, when we threatened to use the bar 3 doors way, his very friendly partner intervened and we got our drinks. Breakfast was unbelievable. Each person was allocated one croissant only but after 3 days, we didn't even get that - just dried slices of bread. You only get offered one cup of tea and one orange juice to drink. Needless to say, we did not choose to eat meals in the hotel but went instead to the excellent choice off restaurants in the nearby village waterfront.Overall not the way to market a hotel which in itself is good. Okay, now for the good bits. The owner's partner could not be more helpful and tried to keep the owner under control, mainly successfully. The hotel rooms were spacious and the standard of decor and cleanliness very high. The view from the front rooms were excellent and the balconies were of very good size. Parking nearby was not a problem (can't say about high summer). The location of the hotel for visiting Lake Garda was perfect and the village had its own ferry stop which was useful.

Great okaceWe stayed for 3 nights at the end of June it was in a great location with a balcony overlooking the lake. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace looking at the lake - perfect. The rooms were very clean, a little dated but everything we needed and wanted. I asked for extra hangers and extra pillows and they were brought immediately to our room. We found the owner and staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant twice and the food was good and reasonably priced. We found our stay comfortable thank you
