  Average hotel from a Global Standards

  Stayed for two nights with moderate expectation placed as being told this is the best hotel in town. Breakfast was OK but the room was tiny and bathroom was what you would expect at a low rate business hotel. Lobby is spacious but the hardware is quite old and outdated not worth the price. Check out time is 11am was a big disappointment and first time experience in my life as normal hotels I have stayed typically set at noon. The issue is probably my expectation being too high and need to recognize, with no offense, that this hotel is in the same ballpark range as Toyoko Inn.

  In English: Hotel Aomori is a large, stylish if somewhat old-fashioned hotel in Aomori City. We were impressed by the large, dark-hued lobby of the hotel that greeted us when entering. We had reserved an ordinary room, but the hotel surprised us by providing our family with a large family room on the top floor equipped with a large bath and a beautiful view over Aomori Bay. It was really relaxing, especially to our small child, to have access to a large room and a wide bath to wash awayh the troubles of a day. The room was very clean. To mention a few negatives, the hotel is a bit far from the station, and we would have liked to have a crib for our child to prevent falling from bed, though I understand not having any is pretty much standard for Japanese hotels. The staff was very friendly, and overall we had a great experience.

  Good rooms good food good location

  We are traveling from North to South.Started in Hokkaido and stopped in Aomori on our way down the coast. Aomori area is beautiful in May with flowers and trees blooming everywhere. The hotel is exactly right for our travel needs: Large no- smoking clean room in a non smoking floor. The bathroom included a laundry rope for hanging our hand washed t-shirts which was very usefull. Coming from the traditional north it was very nice to find, in addition to local food, an excallent breakfast with many choices of western food: omlets, salad, fruits , yogurt, toasts, pastries and juice. All very fresh and tasty. The staff was very nice. One of the reception staff spoke some English and she was very kind to fill in the luggage transfer form for us ( to our next hotel). Parking is free and plenty of room for our rented car. The hotel is 20 m walk from the train and easy to access in and out of town. This was a great value for money and we highly reccomend it.

  Hotel review

  Big and comfortable room as compared to ones near Tokyo. Beautiful view from the window. Accessible on foot or by bus. Restaurant available inside the hotel. We visited a nearby observation tower with sea view and mall in the evening.I would definitely recommend this hotel.

  Try to Only Book a Larger Double Bed or Twin Bed Room

  4 stars and possibly 5 stars; if you can get a larger double bed room. The hotel was very busy with autumn colours travellers, so even booking many months in front we could only get a small double room. Ok for one night but too small for two adults with two large suitcases. Efficient and friendly check-in. Room super clean. Our Nissan X Trail small SUV was too high for the hotels stacker car park but the attendant there with English language cards showed us how to access the open car park across the street. 700 Y per night for the car park. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the main shopping street and the same distance to the A shaped tourist centre on the waterfront. We only stayed the one night having caught the train down from Hakodate and then picking up our hire car at the Aomori shin railway station. An excellent starting point for part 2 of our all of Japan, self-drive road trip.
