  Nice location, old hotel

  Building is not very nice looking and the interior is quite old as the rooms. Comfortable and good staff but not many of them speak English. Not sure if it's a official 3 or 4 stars as you have both ratings in different locations. To me it's a 3 stars. Couldn't use the pool as I arrive at 7pm and it closest at that time, a bit early to my liking. Montegrotto is nice and you have great restaurants and pizzeria in town and fantastic gelaterie!

  not worth 4 stars

  The hotel is a bit oldish, but this was OK... well but never worth 4 stars. The spa is not a spa, but ressembling a hospital area with all white tiles. But it is clean. They have several pools one large for swimming, one with jacuzzi type jets which are quiet strong and efficient. Most of the clients are above 60 years old, many more than 70. The restaurant is more a factory and has nothing to do with Italian food at all. The problem are also the times: the hotel expects all guests to eat lunch at 12 (from12-15h) the jacuzzis are turned off. Dinner is served at 19h20, a mix of buffet food and a menu served as in china. the waiters walk around with caddies on wheels.... bottom line: we had dinner the first night as we were tired after 7 hours driving. the rest of the week we avoided the restaurant. The other problem with this type of organisation is that you cannot buy any snacks or drinks off-hours. well there is a bar but the staff is nit friendly and once we had to wait 35 minutes for two espressos. The breakfast buffet is nice, lots of choices and many healthy things, but horrible coffee... (you can order a real espresso though) Another good point: they have a nice gym with basic equipment,but in a good conditions. Just avoid the unfriendly yoga coach. when she enteres the gym she turns off all lights and closes all windows to start her "class" We also missed some basic spa features, like sauna, hammam. My wife tried the fango treatments which were ok.

  Just what we needed!!

  Enjoyed our second visit and were surprised that along side the white haired crowd are now small children and families. A nice change and a perfect locations for 3 generations to enjoy relaxed comfort. Food and service is very good. Wines from the region are good and reasonably priced. A classy hotel kept in very good condition.

  2 days of relax

  Stop over for 2 days relaxation. Already visited the establishment and always found it excellent in terms of rooms, food and friendly people. Very well equipped in terms of swimming pools. Place to charge electric car available.

  Nice

  The design of the hotel is ok but I would give it maybe 3 stars instead of 4. I spent here just 2 nights but bed was comfy and room clean and big enough. Breakfast were rich and tasty. I tried also welness, maybe not the most luxurious but efficient and clean. Worth that money.
