Cozy and simple hotel with great location

We stayed at hotel Andreas for a week at the end of August. The surrounding lush gardens, pomegranate trees, cactuses and different kind of flowers were beautiful and the location was great, just a few minutes walk away from the busier restaurant street and approx. 10 minute walk from the Kamari Beach, shops, bus stop and all the necessary holiday services. The hotel itself is simple and maintained quite ok - though a little bit of fixing here and there would do it good.. For example the balcony door handle got detached when turning it about 10 times during the week. :) Our room on the 1st floor was peaceful, facing the inner garden. Balcony was nice and spacious. Room was clean and large, we had twin beds instead of a double, but that was fine considering the spacious layout of the room. The bathroom was quite small and the furnishing of the room was basic but ok. The use of a safety box cost us 5 per week. There was no extra charge of using AC and it worked fine. Beds were firm and comfy, small fridge was great for storing cold drinks and some fruits. There was a free wi-fi but it did not reach inside our room, worked fine on the public areas and on our balcony. The pool area was quite cramped and the sunlight didn't hit the lounge chairs in the morning, it was best in the afternoon. There was also pool towels available at the reception. The roof terrace with some sunbeds was peaceful. Hotel staff was friendly and cleaning services good. Breakfast was very basic (coffee, tea, bread, cheese, cold cuts, tomatoes, cucumber, fruits, yoghurt, marmalades, feta, olives, boiled eggs and some sweet pastry) and it was the same each day - a bit of variation would've been great. Overall Hotel Andreas is very sympathetic, small hotel and great for people who are relaxed and don't mind if everything is not in perfect condition. The location in Kamari is great, just off the busiest streets, but on a walking distance to all Kamari services.

    Great Execellent stay

We arrived May 1st, a day before George, the owner was planning on opening for the season. The company who arranged our trip, changed around our itinerary because no ferries run on Labor Day May 1st. So we flew to Santorini. It was a surprise to George, Owner and host of Hotel Andreas, Instead of making a fuss about the situation, George told us to sit, relax , he dropped everything he was doing, made a few phones calls, in the meantime Gail and I were treated to a glass of wine while we waited. Before long George had our room ready. And the stay details all fixed..Beautiful room overlooking the front garden. That was the started of our 4 night excellent stay at Hotel Andreas, Breakfast each morning was great, fresh orange juice, sliced cheese and ham , perfectly boiled eggs. Yogurt and preserves, bread , excellent coffee. Room , shower, AC , all great, nice flat screen TV ( with a few English channels which was good for news) everything very clean. And the pool at Hotel Andreas was fantastic, a real gem..great place to relax. The location in Kamari, is excellent, very central in the town, short walk to the beach area . And very close to the bus stop...very frequent local bus service to Fira, and beyond, that was great.. Great wifi. We really enjoyed our stay, George and his staff and the hotel are excellentl.

    Very good hotel

The hotel is located near restaurants, bus station, supermarket and also near the beach. Rooms are very clean, new furniture and a large balcony. The pool is also small, but nice. The breakfast was also a good one. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel!

    Perfect stay!

I will begin to say that the garden and sourrundings at this hotel are superb. Full of nature, exactly what you need in that warm weather. Other hotels in kamari dont have so much nature and natural shade. Our bedsheets were literally changed everyday, that was impressive considering this is not happening neither at 4 star hotels. Everything was spotless and shining.. even the floor shines. The rooms are a little small but its all you need, new furniture, flat screen tv, comfy beds And super clean. Pool area is pretty small but it was very chill and you always had sunbeds available. No music, super silent. Also the pool has an awesome view to the mountain. You have the posibility to rent books from the reception. For example at the pool a milkshake is 4 euros. The distance from the hotel to the beach is 200 m. You have a big market at about 100 m. The breakfast is served in the beautiful garden without eating in the sun or feeling hot from the weather. At the breakfast the choices are ham, salami, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, boiled eggs, butter, jam, watermelon, croissants, hot milk, cake, coffee, cereals and orange juice. The airport is 15 minutes away. Thira, the capital is super close like 10 minutes and easy ride. The hotel is quiet in general but i dont know why some doors get slamed very hard in the morning and i advise to use some ear plugs. The bathroom needs improvement, its very small you barely have space to wash yourself. You cant hear the airplanes land, maybe if you are a sound freak it can bother you :). The hosts are helpful and they try their best to answer all your demandings. All in all, I would come again at this hotel :)

    Quaint but Regimented

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel as part of our Wingbuddy package. The hotel is located a short walk to the beach and shops. There are good restaurants nearby. The rooms are adequate, very clean a true 3 star with minimal amenities (no elevator, safe was 5 Euros for the key, bottle water available for a charge and no towels for the pool). Breakfast delicious but repetitive an egg omelette/dish, fruit, breads, yogurts, jams, etc. 7:30 start for breakfast and dont arrive a minute early or you will be met with scowling Andreas (the owner). I went down for a coffee to bring to my room and was told not to spill it. As I am a competent, professional adult, I informed Andreas that I would be careful. The owner is a watchful man who is very particular about his hotel and makes his presence known. One of our party members was told to pay 5 Euros for a towel she had used to remove makeup. She agreed but asked for the towel. He could not produce it and that became the resolution. Intimidation is never a good policy for customer service. Personally I would not recommend staying here because no one on holiday should feel belittled. No need to set an alarm because the rooster and/or the dogs nearby will make sure you are up at the crack of dawn.
