Nice locationThe hotel is in a good location. The bedrooms are small and surprisingly basic. There is no air conditioning despite it being listed as one of amenities - rooms torturously stuffy and hot and only a small desk fan on offer which isn't really acceptable in todays world. Surprising consider it is rated four star. Breakfast limited.Very little information in the bedroom about services on offer at the hotel.

We will return - after all it is only a 2000 mile return car trip from the UK..We had driven near here for a birthday lunch and had decided to stay here before driving back home - if it had not been so hot we would have stayed longer, so we will return in early spring or fall. The building is something else, the staff are great and not stuffy, the food is priced at all levels - the tinned potatoes were not something to expect in a 4* hotel but soon eaten. The room was great with views over the river, but was stiflingly hot. Being such a nice old building it would be a pity to knock it about for air-con. next time maybe a room facing north then one can complain about the trains.. only joking - this is a very special place in a nice town. The other appeal is that it is connected to Vienna and Bratislava airports and cities via a train station near the hotel - the hotel rates and dining costs and all the benefits of not being crushed by hordes of tourists make it a sensible option. The position in town is good, we had slight issues getting because the main route was blocked by roadworks - alas as we had not done our homework we were unaware what building to look for the picture on B.com is of the inner courtyard and so gives one no indication what to look for.. and when we did find something it was a non-functioning lift down by the river..

Beautiful location, very efficient staffThis hotel was booked for us as a part of a cycling tour. We arrived ahead of the check in time, but the staff were very pleasant and showed us immediately to our room. It was very large and modern, which surprised me a bit seeing as we were staying in what used to be a monastery. We ate dinner at the hotel that evening and the food was good. The wait staff was very friendly and we enjoyed our meal very much. The only negative was the fact that there was no air conditioning - we were there during a very hot time, so it was difficult to sleep at night with a single fan trying to cool a large, high-ceilinged room.

Nice hotel but love for details missingAt check in, they did not recognize our booking at first. Hotel interior design is great for a 4star but lacks details of maintenance - cracks, spider webs, missing parts of shower knobs, smelly showers in the sauna area... Rooms are spacy w high ceilings. Minibar had only a Coke and a non-alcoholic beer. The check in guy took his dinner on the counter, sauna guests walked into the bar in bathing robe, the bar and half of the hotel was smelling like french fries fat. To sum it up, location and designwise this could be a great hotel, but certainly lacks management attention.

It deserves only 2 stars not 4!The hotel itself is located in a very quiet town in Austria. Bigott Christianity radiates from its walls. This place is more like purgatory where people just transit. We got a room for disabled people, what I had asked to change. That room was worn down with bedside lamps broken and dangerous with kids. The other room we got has other issues (the pics I submitted talk for themselves)... luckily we stayed just overnight and not longer. The whole place had seen better days. Most likely that the management doesn't spend money on refurbishment or keeping quality. The best part of the building is the staircase and the lobby, the rest is simply a massive disappointment.
