Very nice hotel, but beware of the bellsThe hotel itself is excellent in every way. The hotel is reviewed below, BUT, the problem happens at 06:00, when the church bells about 20 meters away, chime for 63 times in 3 minutes. 06:00 - 20 times 06:01 - 21 times 06:02 - 22 times, just in case you weren't fully conscious by then. I don't know if we hit a "bad week", but I've a feeling this is a "traditional thing". Hotel: ===== We stayed in April for 4 nights on a HB basis. Breakfast Including a buffet of bacon & eggs, continental, fresh bread, fresh croissants, variety of jams, real honey with honeycomb. Cold meats, toast, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruits, and an orange juicer machine ! Tables were allocated by surname, so you sat at the same spot every day. Staff were incredibly efficient and professional. Dinner was a menu selection: salad, soup, main, dessert. On the 3rd floor is the spa, which is really quite excellent. I had a back massage which really did the trick after 2 days skiing. If I had stayed a day longer, I'd have had my legs done as well. If you book, try to get a room as far away from the church as possible. skiiing: ===== They operate a shuttle bus every half an hour at 00 and 30, taking you to the foot of the ski lift. They also have a ski room to leave your equipment.

Loved it!We have just spent a wonderful week in this lovely hotel in the centre of Soelden. The service was good -friendly and efficient -and the food (both breakfast and 4 course evening meal) was excellent. There is also a wonderful selection of wines and schnapps on offer. The hotel in situated just off the main road. There is no noise from the traffic but the apres ski music from a nearby bar was a bit irritating (although it did stop around 19:00). There is a shuttle to and from the Giggijoch lift from the hotel but it is possible to walk to the lift in about 10 minutes, where there are ski- lockers at a discount in Sport Riml. All in all a great place to stay!

Positives, but room for improvementI and my friends have a long history with this hotel, first visiting 30 years ago. I have visited maybe 5 times over the years. I can see the improvements, updates they have made. The hotel sits a bit off the main street which is good. There is a run down just at the base of the hill up to the hotel, so you should get close to ski-in. Restaurant and food were very good (Friday night buffet quite excellent!), with frequent uses of their buffet area. Service was quite good too. Breakfasts were good, but for reasons I will never understand the chefs at the egg station struggled with the eggs... We enjoyed the bar, and wellness area. The wellness area is one of the nicer ones I have seen over the years, except, that the hot top was more a "warm" tub. Biggest complaint I heard from our group were the rooms, many of them being very tired, and not much changed from 30 years ago. Several had issues with the beds, mattresses. Most had limited showers in a bathtub, which while I understand, is a turn-off for many adults, especially larger ones. So, a solid experience, but there is room for improvement.

Enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotelSpent New Year's Week in the Hotel Alpina with our adult daughter. We had a large suite so plenty of room for the three of us. Yes, the room could have been updated, but we liked the traditional Tyrolian decor. The bed was comfortable. The churchbells did not bother us, in fact, it helped us to slowly get up for the day. The spa was excellent and clean. We looked forward to it at the end of a long ski day. I loved the food, lots of choices and plentiful. The staff took very good care of us. Jan in the bar and Christof at our table. I liked the location, off the main strip and still close to the bus stop. You can ski back to the hotel and the shuttle in the morning was convenient. I wish there was more activity in the bar. We like to meet people from around the world, and usually meet others in the hotel bar when we travel. Perhaps a happy hour prior to dinner would encourage more to stop by the bar. Overall, a good choice, I highly recommend.

Ski break for my 50th BirthdayWe stayed in room 404 in the newest refurbished rooms, a panorama room, and it was fabulous with great views of the church, mountain stream and mountains beyond. Plenty of space for storage, a huge bed, a great balcony room with outside sofa and covered veranda. Double sized shower and large bath and sink area, separate toilet an bidet room. The restaurant for both breakfast and evening meal was superb. Special thanks to Cristophe and Jan (in the bar). This was a very special hotel for my special miliestone 50th Birthday and we will definitely return. Also to mention, the spa area was immaculate and varied. Superb family run hotel.
