  We will be back

  Alpenhof were very helpful from start to finish. Fitted us in from a Tuesday to a Sunday in the middle of the busy ski season. Very reasonably priced for bed & breakfast. The added bonus of a shuttle bus down to the town, boot room, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna included in the price! The hotel is an old family hotel and while the decor was a bit dated, it os quite normal for me as i stayed in a similar hotel in Mayrhofen last year. it was clean, warm and somewhere to rest my tired head! The number 3 bus goes right outside the door so it was easy to get down the town or go to apres when the shuttle bus wasn't working. Breakfast was great, self service and plenty of choice. Ate my fill so I didn't need to eat until 2/3pm on the mountain! I stayed in st Anton a month previously in a catered chalet and I would rather have stayed at the alpenhof hands down on both occasions!

  Poor Standards

  Stayed her on a skit trip. Overall, a poor experience in the place. The rooms are very small, badly need updating. I was in a triple room which is a double at best. Decor very old. The standard of food is worse than bad. They have the cheek to tell you you cant get tap water so you have to buy water at 4 Euro a bottle. Wine is 24 Euro for plonk. The male waiter, young tall guy was the most ignorant waiter I have come across in a long time. Grunts, and either hates tourists or his job or even both. Breakfasts were passable but dinner was very poor. Watching how they operate, they really make an effort with German and Austrian people and not with others. Nice sauna and steam room and jacuzzi.. Re emotion staff nice, and the bad downstairs was good. Too far from the town though.. 10 to 15 taxi at night. Would not be staying here again, and Alpenhof, if you do read this, give that male waiter a kick in the rear end he so well deserves!! It costs nothing to be nice to people, and he just did himself out of a tip from us all..

  Nice and cozy but...

  Would give 5 stars if not the location of this otherwise very nice hotel - one needs to commute by bus or hotel shuttle (only available in the mornings) in order to get to the slopes, to the town, supermarket, etc. Food is pretty good, especially breakfasts; there's a so-so bar on the premises as well as small but pretty clean sauna.

  No-frills stay a few minutes from the village.

  About 1.5 km up the road to Arlbergpass from St.Anton, good value for money, at least in the summertime. Old-style inside, simple and ok for basic needs; nice and helpful staff, breakfast buffet ok. Slept in single room with shared bathroom, all in all good. Wifi good.

  In need of a major overhaul ...

  The Alpenhof needs more than some TLC ... as it is in need of a major overhaul. The interior is tired ... and this is mildly put given the fact that our couch/sofa had tears. Add to this the old bathroom, high price and the unromantic location (next to St Antonys main road) and you know the verdict! The only reason for not giving the lowest rating: the beds were comfortable and the service (receptionist or at breakfast) was very helpful.
