  Perfect for transit and not only

  Placed at approx 40km from the Bulgarian Border, Kulata, the hotel is well-known already between the tourists traveling across Bulgaria and Greece. The personal is helpful, the rooms are clean, large and well-equipped, from new furniture, LCD TV, mini-bar fridge, air conditioning and heater for winter, to bathroom necessaries. We were on transit, but the pool area looks very attractive. Not expensive room rate, breakfast more than enough, Swedish buffet type, also on-demand "please, more"...all that made us very pleased. We had a round trip, and we picked Alexandros Hotel for both nights, in and out of Greece, before hitting the road again.

  Don't be turned off by the exterior, inside is recently updated, and staff is very helpful

  The place: We stayed at the hotel during a chess tournament. When we arrived we were initially turned off by the exterior which has not been kept up as much, but the rooms were recently updated and were fine. There was probably more carpeting than needed in the rooms. The people: The staff was friendly, and they settled a dispute we had with management's change of terms of our overnight stay in a very timely manner, and to our advantage. They were very friendly, even during the dispute discussions. They did manage to accommodate an overwhelming # of guests during the chess tournament with calm, so I definitely give them a big thumbs up! Breakfast: not too impressed by that really, in terms of what was offered. As an aside, it was held in the hotel next door, Acropol. The staff was very friendly, and tried to refill trays as soon as possible.. The location: beware, there are not that many things to do around there, you would have to drive into town if you want to do anything other than relax in the hotel itself.

  Very good transit hotel

  The hotel can be found at the entrance of Serres. It has large rooms and a big balcony. You can smoke in the room. It has a great outdoor pool where you can relax and swim. So, if you are ever passing by that area you should spend the night at this hotel.

  Very expensive, but useful for transit

  The hotel is located at about 25 km from the Greek border, and it is good for one night. The room we got smelled like mold, and the light bulb in the bathroom burned when we turned it on. We called the receptionist, and he tried to fix it, but he couldn't so he offered us another room. This room didn't smell bad, it was nice and clean, but the refrigerator didn't work. However, the room was good for transit, and the personnel was very kind, but I found the price very high for what it offered.

  Nice hotel, well located

  We stayed twice at this hotel, which is very well located on the way to Thessaloniki, close to the border with Bulgaria. The room was pretty basic, but comfortable, and we had a very large balcony, with a splendid view. It's kind of noisy because of the proximity of the highway.
