  Tiny Room, central location

  Don't stay here if you have big build. The room is tiny., the bed only semi double size. Everything squeezed into bathroom compactly. Lots of Japanese workers staying here. Location is excellent, very easy to walk to all the city's attraction from the hotel. The breakfast was good.

  Disastrous parking experience

  Pros- Good breakfast selection. Despite the language barrier the staff seemed friendly enough. Cons- TLDR: the parking ticket provided by the hotel didn't work resulting in us causing a queue of traffic as we scrambled to find change to pay yet again. Detailed: the 'on-site' parking is actually a large parking lot (Moss parking) 2 streets away that you prepay for at the hotel and receive a ticket for the barriers on exit. This cost 850 yen at the hotel, higher than the 800 booking.com advertises. This ticket would not work at the barriers resulting in a queue building behind us which was incredibly embarrassing. We didn't have change to pay for the original ticket we'd received on entry so had to get everyone to reverse so we could move out of the way, park up, then head to a nearby shop to change a larger note. Overall it was humiliating and we ended up paying 2400 yen for parking. It was pointless going back to the hotel to try and fix this as we don't speak Japanese well and their English was nearly non-existent. Lesson learned - always have backup change for parking. Aside from that, the experience was generally meh through to ok: The room was small (as you'd expect for Japan in fairness) but cost near twice as much as other budget hotels used throughout the trip. The amenities were lacking (no shower cap or hairbrush for instance). The bathroom had no bin. The bedsheets were an odd material that felt like paper and kept slipping off in the night with a crinkly sound. Overall, we would not use this chain again.

  Very nice hotel

  Very clean and comfortable rooms. Typical small Japanese rooms with tiny bathroom. Staff was very pleasant but spoke no English. Difficult to communicate about sights or places to eat. Centrally located and only 100 meters from DenDen-Mashi loop bus stops. About 15 minute walk from JR station. Very nice breakfast with enough Western selections to satisfy.

  Great Restaurant with Organic Ingredients within Hotel Ace

  My wife truly enjoyed our lunch buffet meat at the Restaurant Beehive within the Ace Hotel , Morioka. It consisted of fair prices for high quality veggies and freshly prepared dishes, all organic... Wow, great lunch/dinners for a fair prices ....

  Good value

  This is my 2nd time staying at this hotel. The room is clean but small. Somehow, there is this odour coming from the bathroom through my 2 night stay.Though my room is a non-smoking one, the corridor is filled with stench of stale cigarette smell. Breakfast is of reasonable spread, and comes with the stay. For the price I had paid, it is very good value for money. Hotel is about 10 - 15 min walk from Morioka Station. However, there is a supermarket and numerous restaurants within the vicinity. Note that parking is off site, about a hundred meters away.
