Five Star BreakfastThis hotel is certainly not the most modern in Berlin but it is inexpensive, well located and our room was spacious, warm and the bed was extremely comfortable. It comes with all the German standards - showers of bone breaking force, loo paper which could sand the roughest walls, all purpose cleanser/shampoo (what do they use for conditioner?) and lighting of the greatest economy! A welcome by product were the bedside lamps which were perfect for midnight reading without disturbing your partner. The breakfast was fantastic. Great coffee, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, perfect boiled eggs, delicious rolls and a large range of cold meats and cheeses. Delicious! The owner had poor English but my German was even poorer however with lots of sign language and paper we communicated perfectly. Would stay again.

Stay away!My husband and I were visiting friends in Berlin and chose this hotel because of its proximity to their apartment. We were met with a deranged man who proceeded to yell at us and did not seem to comprehend that we had a confirmed reservation even though we presented him with an email stating the dates and price. After a lengthy argument ( luckily our friends were with us and I speak some German , as no English is spoken) he brought us to our room. You could not open the windows. The floors were dirty. The room smelled like mold. The tiny TV did not work. None of the other employees spoke English. We felt like we were in a nightmare and could not wait to get out in the morning. Berlin has great hotels. Do not stay in this one.

A good location and a good priceI stayed in Hotel Abell while taking a Holiday around Europe. The workers don't speak much English, but they are the kind of people that make it more fun to try to communicate with gestures and other means. The breakfast was pretty good, with a nice variety. The wifi signal in our room was spotty depending on the location in the room. Though the hotel is not in the middle of the action, it's right next a train that will take you there in minutes. It's a great overall deal.

mad!!!stayed there 2 night , we book 4 rooms for 4 of us , with twin bed , the lady at the reception come to our room to take all the bedding from the other bed ( never saw this in any hotel ) , shampoo and towel for any second person . poor breakfast and as a cherry on a cake the owner no one word in English , very rude and he think we didn't understand that he was yelling at us . PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! YOU CAN SPEND THE SAME MONEY IN BETTER HOTEL !!!

Comfortable hotelIt's a small and nice hotel, very close to the connction from/to the airport. In 20 minutes the town centre can be reached via metro or bus. Even in the new year night the streets around the hotel are very calm. The room is very basic but clean. If you need to charge more than one device at the same time I suggest you to bring some adapter.
