Perfect autumn destination for us!We spent ten days at the 3T towards the end of October. We went as a family group of 2 17 year olds studying Classics, a 5 year old and two adults. We were assigned a lovely 2 bedroom apartment, with a living room, balcony and very nice bathroom with a bath and shower. It had all the equipment we could possibly need to cook (and we did eat in most nights). The area is quiet and peaceful (apart from the midnight Barkathon, that never seemed to last long). There is a huge range of places to eat in Kalkan itself and a place across the road from the hotel but we didn't try it out. We understand that Kalkan eateries tend to be quite expensive compared to standard Turkish prices, but buying food to cook was certainly very reasonable (we went to Carrefour at the top of town where they sell everything except fish it seemed), and we managed to live very well on £20-25/day for the 5 of us, for all three meals. The weather for perfect for us- 23-27C the whole time we were there. There were 3 days with massive and impressive storms at night, and some pretty impressive amounts of water coming through the grounds, but any mud left behind was quickly cleared up very early in the morning by Selçuk and his dedicated staff, leaving the pool crystal-clear and poolside area spick and span every morning. For the same cost as the airport transfers from Dalaman for 5 of us, we hired a car. Although the beach near the hotel itself isn't that interesting for people with small children -it is made up of a series of paved shelves on some pretty sharp rocks, although the water was crystal clear and my husband saw a turtle far below him while out snorkelling- we were able to travel to two other glorious beaches nearby: Patara (9km away) and Kaputas (6km away along the coast road towards Kas). We went to Patara twice and Kaputas twice, once the day after an impressive storm. The sea was about 25C and the older girls who are both strong swimmers were enchanted by the fierce but warm waves. Patara is astonishing- 12 km of sand and dunes, with a 2600 year old Lycian city behind it. You need to buy a card for the beach- 7.5 Turkish lira (less than £2.50) for 10 entries, valid for 10 days. Entry to the ruins is 5TLY each (so 20TLY for us, or less £7 for all of us, since children under 12 were free at all of the places we went, so we only ever paid for 4 entries to things). You can take dolmuses (minibuses coloured white and blue, very cheap to ride in!) to most of the places of interest but be sure to check the times of the last ones back! We learned this the hard way on a previous trip to Turkey during Eid... The rest of our time there, we drove around to the plentiful archeological sites and romped happily around the ruins of cities several thousand of years old. You get a lot more access to the ruins than you do in Greece for example, and our student Classicists were happy as anything seeing Greek inscriptions in the flesh so to speak. Anyway, enough about the area (which is breath-taking, and probably at its best for Northern tourists at that time of year- warm sea, balmy temperatures even when it rained) and back to the hotel, which is clean, well-appointed, and staffed by wonderful people who worked tirelessly for their guests even though there were only a few of us. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday- going away for a summer holiday in October somehow makes the English winter that bit shorter. Thank you so much to Selçuk and all his staff for making our stay so enjoyable! Our apartment was cleaned every 3 days during our stay, which we found was perfect. The ladies who cleaned have a lovely way of arranging the blankets and towels- we once came back to find a pair of embracing towel swans on our bed! As I mentioned before, the maintenance staff worked tirelessly to keep the mud at bay after the few spectacular downpours we had. We can only thank them all for a lovely stay.

Our second excellent holiday at the 3TWe returned to 3T in October 2014 for a 10 night break, having spent a week at the same hotel in October 2012 As before we stayed in the hotel rather than the apartments - the room was spacious, fairly basic, cleaned every day, & had a nice view across Kalamar Bay from the balcony. Breakfast has changed from cooked to order to buffet, which suited us Staff are excellent - Selcuk (he's not the Manager but seems to do all the work & speaks the best English) organised taxis for us & was on hand to offer advice & assistance. The hotel is well positioned for the walk down a steep hill to Kalamar Bay, where the dive operation we used (Kalkan Diving) were situated Value for money at this hotel cannot be bettered - although its a 20-25 minute walk into town, there are restaurants nearby (we generally used Café Vita) We will definitely return

Nice Hotel and Apartments with PoolWe booked an apartment for one week. It was large and clean. If you want to go to the city center, perhaps you need a car. We wanted to go for diving with the Kalkan Diving Center. The Hotel is near to the Diving Center, excellent for what we want!

BroffersSpent 2 weeks here and just got back. Wonderfully quiet for us but not so good for the hotel staff. Lovely huge room with breathtaking views of Kalamar bay with Mouse and Snake islands in the distance. Selcuk and Mustafa were excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast truly wonderful with a surprise everyday, omelettes, cheese rolls, boiled eggs and even French toast. As much juice and tea or coffee as you like. Pool was spotless and the sun beds are the comfiest I have ever slept on with nice head rests.

Great value! We had a lovely apartment with a balcony and sea view. Quiet and relaxing and we had the beautiful pool to ourselves for three days. Ten minute walk to the sea and a 25 minute walk into the centre of Kalkan. Nearest restaurants and supermarkets just 5 - 10 minutes away. Very friendly and helpful staff.
