  Very nice

  We would have rated this hotel a 5 except that there were a few minor flaws. These may not matter to you. The location is very central. We booked online, but when we arrived the booking seemed to not have completed. Of course the hotel found us a room, but it may not have been the room intended by our booking. It was an accessible room. We doubt that all the rooms are designed like that. It was spacious, comfortable, and had good lighting by the bed for reading. The shower had a curtain to separate it from the rest if the bathroom, but that didnt prevent water from spreading beyond the shower. There was no light switch fir the bathroom. Instead it detected motion and turned on. That means that in the middle of the night a bright light gies on if one person uses the bathroom. Motion sensing lights do work well in the hallway. Wifi was good, but every time we left the hotel and returned we had to reconnect manually. Breakfast was fine. We suggest the hotel increase the lighting in the breakfast area and broaden the selection of cereals.

  Whats not to like!

  Clean, comfortable and quiet. This hotel is a find for sure! The perfect place to visit the much acclaimed Chateau Guedelon and other sites. The hotel and its staff are welcoming and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is of a very good standard. The waitresses are attentive, friendly and amiable. We visited on the day of my Birthday. Having mentioned this in passing to Laura, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary dessert and a glass of Champagne. Attention to detail deserves this accolade. Well done Hostellerie De La Poste - we will certainly be back!

  Fantastic meal

  Cruising the canals and ended up in Clemacy for the night. Looking for a restaurant and ended up at the hotel. The staff worked hard with our lack of French, but we got there in the end and had a fantastic meal. Beautifully presented and enjoyed by all. Highly recommended.

  Brilliant bistro

  We entered off the side street into the bistro/brasserie and it wasn't until it came to paying that we discovered that it was part of a very fine hotel! Lunch was a very relaxed affair and the 18.00 price included two courses, wine and coffee. Very good service and nothing to grumble about at all. Grand exit through the front door.

  Beginners mistakes

  We have been to this place while staying in Clamecy on a boat trip on the canal du Niverney. Both starters and main courses were nice, well prepared, and good products. Th surprise came from the service, where we got served a red Chassagne Montrachet while we ordered a white, and we had a tiny "assiette de fromage" while we we expecting to choose from their beautiful plateau local cheeses. We also had a long wait before they finally brought the desserts, and brought a glass of champagne to apologise for the delay. Not bad overall, but could be a bit more professional ...
