    Great public spaces and food

This hotel is an older hotel which has been partially renovated. The rooms havent been updated yet (I assume they will be) and are a little tired. Not bad, theyre a good size and everythings there but they look a little old. The lobby and public spaces however have been beautifully renovated and look amazing. The food also was truly superb. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Its maybe a little expensive but we had a nice time at this hotel and would stay here again.

    A bad hotel

First impressions not good - the hotel car park is full so I need to drive it to another car park and pay 1000 Yen per night for the privilege. This also included being slightly harassed to take my luggage out of the car in the car foyer of the hotel and leaving it in the lobby with my wife while I go and park the car. Then, staff helped me put my luggage on to a large trolley but it was a DIY one - so I took them up myself to my room in a lift barely big enough for the trolley. Room is OK - think 1950s Hollywood family film style. Bed and pillows terribly hard and not comfortable. Options for dining are extremely limited - there is a Japanese restaurant that seemed to never open and requires a three day in advance reservation anyway, a Chinese restaurant that seemed to be never open for walk in guests, only large banquet sized groups, and the cafe. As Asahikawa's dining options are limited to really only those who want to drive for miles to find somewhere, or understand Japanese (we went to a Genghis Khan grill on top of one of the hotels near the JR station, walked in to an almost empty 100-cover restaurant and were told they were fully reserved - they didn't even enquire as to whether it was a quick drink/bite we were after), the cafe is realistically the only eating option. While the food is good it is a) small portions, b) expensive and c) the cafe has no atmosphere, ambience, or anything that makes you want to stay. Did not feel inclined to ty the onsen, so I can't comment on this. Overall, one of the most boring hotel stays (and the town itself is truly very dull and very ugly) I've endured. Happy to leave.

    Excellent Breakfast

Excellent hearty breakfast. Feel free to take out a cup of coffee with you after finishing breakfast. Small but cozy room. Pillow and mattress comfortable. The bed by the window is quite appealing but cold air from the air-conditioner gave me a headache. Washing machines in the basement is a plus.

    Helpful and friendly staff

Stayed in the OMO7 for 3 nights, staff in the hotel is very friendly and helpful, especially at the reception, in the restaurant and spa, some of them can speak English very well. Rooms are not as stylish as the lobby and restaurant, but spacious enough and very clean, air condition is very calm, there are vending machines for drinks on every floor. Food is delicious, spa is fine, shiatsu massage can be recommended. The hotel is located very close to the main streets / pedestrian areas, the hotel can be reached by bus shuttle from the airport.

    Not bad

Stayed here for a few nights in Asahikawa. The hotel amenities are ok, staff reasonably friendly. The rooms are a bit strange, the single rooms remind me of university accommodation (attached table and sofa in corner).
