Excellent Hospitality!!I stayed one night on the way back from my trip. This was my first stay at the Hoshino Resort. I was welcomed with warm smiles on arrival at the front entrance, and the check-in process was done over a cup of tea with delicious Japanese tea cookie-so nice. My birthday was in a few days and I was surprised by a special dessert after the dinner. Every corner of the hotel was cleaned and all the staffs I encountered were so kind and friendly. I will definitely stay Hoshino resort again.

Tranquility, tea and relaxationThis was my first experience on Hoshino Group but it wont be the last for sure. I wanted to try Risonare Tomaru but not available. Being a big fan of green tea, I took Kai Enshu instead. Everything here was better than I anticipated. Weathers perfect, place is tranquil, the hotel is well managed, people is well trained and very attentive. My room was on the 5th floor, tatami style, nice view, spacious and very clean, highly recommended even though for foreigners. Cant go any wrong if you booked including dinner, fine Japanese dining indeed. Onsen here is a must. Tea tasting is divine. Big thank to Sawayama San, who served our table, offered us some complimentary sake and a lovely photo to end our 2nd evening in this hotel beautifully.

The Definition of ShibuiOur stay was simply one of the best experiences we have had in our lives, and not limited to hotels. Words that come to mind are "exquisite", "elegant", and "shibui", but these do not adequately describe the experience. We would agree with many of the reviews as to the highest quality and presentation of the meals, the subtle beauty of the rooms and common areas, and the unique onsen/rotemburo. The staff are beyond well-trained and we felt a personal connection. Don't miss the daily tea-making activity in the library. Thank you Kai Enshu!

Great place to stayOur room was very spacy, with a private outdoor bath and a great view of the lake. Food is excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Really liked the tea leaf selection in the lounge where you can choose a variety of local green tea leaves, put them in beautiful tin cans, and take them back to your room to enjoy.
