    Great place

Great place with easy access to slopes, nice and efficient service. Part of the Hoshino resort which is a very good company. If you want nice, practical and easy ski weekend, that's the perfect place. Not too crowded either.

    Excellent support for visitors

I stayed at this place for 2 nights. The service level was excellent. All of the staffs assisted me for all occasions. There were variety of events for the guests. There were some supporting plan for trekking and mountain climbing. I ordered lunch box, which was convenient since the were no convenience shops nearby. They had rental trekking poles for free, which helped me a lot. There are good trekking routes with beautiful views nearby. They provided short trips to the tourist places. All of my experiences of this trip were excellent.

New, new, every place maintain so well as brand new (for skiing)

Pros: 1. ski in ski out to ALTS Bandai Ski Resort, which is a ski resort of reasonable size in Japan standard. 2. New, new, new, everywhere maintained so well, every bit in the room just look like brand new, including washroom, water boiler, etc etc 3. My biggest merit gives to the 25m swimming pool and 40degree celcius jacuzzi next to the pool, free of charge fir hotel guests, opening from 10am - 8pm 4. very convenient to link to the wing consisted of ski school and ski rental 5. there is one ski lift available for family and free to charge for guests 6. Different activities provided, including stretching exercises in early morning and at night (6-6. 30am, 9.30-10pm), talk about sake, etc 7. Very high level of service as a whole 8. Staff are smart and can easily overcome language barrier (many know basic English, and + google translate) Cons: 1. there is a variety of buffet style breakfast and dinner and is delicious, but many repeated everyday

    Good Quality Hotel

We stayed at this hotel as part of the Aizu Ambassador Ski Promotion for 5 nights in February. The hotel is situated at the base of the ski slopes with easy access to 3 chairlifts or a Gondola. The rooms are quite large and the bath was the longest/biggest Ive experience on my 6 trips to Japan. Good to soak in! The breakfasts are very Japanese in style but quite extensive in their choices. They only have a buffet( all you can eat ) for dinner but that has many hot/cold varieties. Don't think I've seen so many ways you can eat Pork. Yummy! Also had very nice roast beef as well. English is not used much but verbally you can explain things with some difficulty. As far as printed information this is also very limited. Some Japanese is recommended or a good language electronic translator which we didn't have. Has a bar, but many spirits, saki and some beer , I think. No wine. You can get wine at the buffet dinner .Does have free all day coffee machine. Nice coffee but only black or white. Hotel does not do lunch but there are amble and a variety of food choices in the Ski Resort Centre which is connected via an enclosed walkway from the hotel. You can walk between the two in normal clothes and shoes. The unique thing about this hotel compared to others that I have stayed in ( at ski resorts ) is that you can where your Onsen dressing gown and slippers anywhere in the hotel and also in the restaurant. Actually going in normally dressed makes you feel a bit self conscious as everyone mostly are dressed like "Chairman Mao" The onsen as indoor only we didn't try, but seeing the amount of people in lifts going to the basement , it must have been busy. Not my style. The hotel also has some benefits if you hire skis etc through resort which we didn't understand fully. More info on procedural matters in English as to do's and donts would have been better. A second visit is being considered next year.

Spent a great week at Alts (Hoshino Resort Bandaisan Onsen Hotel)

My wife and I had a very fun week around the Aizu area staying at Hoshino Resorts Bandaisan Onsen Hotel as part of the Aizu Ambassador promotion. We also hired a car for the week, which we highly recommend as it allowed us to travel to the many other resorts and towns when ever we wanted. We were amongst only a few western travellers which made it feel like we were getting off the main English tourist route. We only speak limited Japanese but were able to get around everything that we needed. We intend to come back and bring friends with us
