Our dogs didn't even want to walk on the carpet! We stayed here overnight while passing through with our two yellow labs. This is owned by Cactus Petes across the road and you have to check in there before heading off to this property. The casino to the Houseshu was closed and we actually thought that we had the wrong building because there were no cars or people to be found. After checking in, we made our way back across the road to our room. Our room wreaked of dog urine (all carpeted and old). When I complained to the front desk, they took 20% off of our room rate. Public spaces in this building were filthy. There is some grass outside but no dog bags. Surprisingly, Jackpot has a wonderful, grassy dog park about one-half mile from this property. Google it and you will see how to get there. We did gamble at Cactus Petes. It tries to be a "vegas" casino. Cocktail waitresses are overworked. Was offered one drink during the two hours we gambled. We had dinner at the cafe at Cactus Petes. The food was good and the service very good. Would not stay here again unless it was an emergency and our dogs were with us.

Fourth visitWe had been here before, so we knew in advance what we would be getting. We knew it would be a sort of budget inn and werent expecting anything more. Frankly, some of the negative reviews that I read were sort of petty. While this place could certainly use some remodeling, its not horrible. Its also about what youd expect for the price that you pay. The old school appearance of the room, with its western picture on the wall, striped wallpaper, and old telephone added charm in my mind. There is a large grassy yard by the hotel building where kids and dogs can romp around. The landscaping is attractive. The room is a good size. We felt that they could have had more channels for their TV. I would have liked having Fox News. The air-conditioning seemed to work well. My one complaint about this room was the dusty smell. Im sensitive to dust and felt that the hotel management should consider getting rid of the dusty bedspreads and doing what other hotels are doing now. Its a short walk across the street to the casino and buffet. You can also park there if you cant or dont want to walk over there. The buffet dinner we had at Cactus Petes was expensive at $29.95 per person on a Saturday night, but we won money at the casino, so it paid for our dinner. There is a large pool and nice pool deck. There was a hot tub. We will probably stay again while in the area.

Horrible!Stayed one night.. .room was in need of overhaul. The bedskirts were ripped. Parking was non existent. Noisy. ..got about 2 hours of sleep total. Curtains did not cover window and there was a spotlight just outside it so it was in eyes all night. Never stay here again.

Poor HotelAs a step child to Cactus Pete's, it is very apparent that this hotel is the beaten step child. This hotel is very worn and abused. Plumbing in the shower could not keep up with the water. Nothing worse than showering in a tub with water above you ankles! Heater kicked on, and it smelled horrific! Not worth the discounted rate. Stay away.
