Spanish UndelightI have visited and used the facilities at Horseshoe Point on a few occasions and have been disappointed at the standard of the hotel and pool. Although it is a 'horsey paradise' the other part of the resort has been neglected and needs a major facelift. e.g. There is a lovely pool but it is in poor condition. It is like a ghost hotel where you have to find staff to get some food. Such a shame as it could be a fantastic Country Club.

Miles away from anywhere and the only taxi the hotel provides is one where they earn commission.I booked this on looks and price expecting an older but serviceable accommodation. This may have been modern at the time before Cuba had their restrictions imposed. But regardless of all that the fact it cost us over £100 in taxis for 2 days to get here makes it somewhere I would recommend against most strongly

Dilapidated ResortI booked a suite as it was shown to have a kitchenette, and large table which I could work at and had wifi. I tested the wifi in the room as it kept cutting out, at best i was getting 0.66 mb/s, so was totally unusable for work. Without all the lights on in room, it was almost entirely dark. There is virtually no access to daylight in the room I was in; and will be the same, due to the layout of the building, for the vast majority of rooms there. Therefore, I was unable to work in the room as planned when i made the booking. Despite their being a kitchenette, it had no cutlery or crockery. The kettle, after used once, when there was still some heat in the element, would not switch back on again. So I had to stand beside it and physically keep the button switched on until boiled. The air conditioner in the living room sounded like a turbine. The air conditioner in the bedroom, made a very annoying clicking noise which made it difficult to sleep without earplugs. The bed and pillows in the bedroom were like concrete. I would go as far as to say the worst hotel bed I have ever slept in. To top it off, on the last night I was there, there was an animal, I suspect a rat from the amount of noise and speed of it, either in the floorboards between the room I was in and the room upstairs or in the room upstairs itself. Every 30 mins it was running around noisily and woke me up. I advised reception and they had a look. As they couldn't find it, i suspect it was in the floorboards. Am sure it would have been very nice when new and has great facilities for horse riding. But as rented accommodation, no way is this 3.5 star as shown. The entire facility is very much in disrepair and I cant advise strongly enough, not to make a booking here. There are much nicer, modern places close by for a similar price.

Spanish InquisitionHaving visited this resort on many occasions through football and cricket I am surprised that the main hotel part has not been upgraded or had some TLC at the very least. On a positive note there was a childrens party on Sunday so the place is being utilised. Apart from that it resembled a ghost town. There is a lovely big swimming pool but again it has been neglected. It is isolated out in the country so the resort needs to up its game.

Great place for Team buildingThis is a nice place for a team building activity, the Burma bridge, the rope rides are outstanding, the best was a long rope ride which was like over 200 feet over the tree lines very thrilling and shrieking experience. Best of all is the rope ride over the water as a final leg...and landing. The facilitator there makes the event even more fun by bringing in competition as treasure hunt etc and the property lends itself to such opportunity. Wanted to take my kids here definitely.
