  Security Lapse = One Sleepless Night

  I joined my mom and her sisters for their annual tour where we were supposed to spend one night at Changsha before heading to Zhangjiajie. Date of Stay: October 18 - 19,2011 Room Type: Deluxe Room Upgrade: Loyalty Card: None Location: We were on our own bus and it was a pretty short stay, but I think the hotel is on the edge of the city since there aren't anything around the hotel. I'm not even sure if there is a convenience store nearby. Check in: I really thought it was cool that we didn't have to show anything to get our keys. We spent some time taking photos outside while our guide went it to the reception, by the time we got in to the hotel, she already had our keys for the rooms on the same floor. Room: The room was quite large, the design concept was pretty weird, it felt like the designer or owner of the hotel just mixed all the things they liked from different hotels they've stayed in, but beyond aesthetics the room was very spacious. Bathroom: is quite good...there is a big shower stall but lighting was very dark. Check-out: Check-out was fast we handed the keys to our guide and WE WERE ready to leave. There was an incident at the room of my aunt which resulted to a sleepless night for everybody. Shortly after checking in the aircon at their original room was not working properly, so they asked for a transfer to a new room on the same floor. When we got back from dinner the aircon in the room was still not working, they wanted to move rooms but the front desk said they are full and that they will send someone to bring a fan into the room. While the staff was installing the fan, there was a tall man who went inside the room, went to the side of one of the beds and got something in-between the mattresses and stuffed it in his back under his shirt. It happened so fast that my aunt was too shock to react. She started calling us and the front desk, security staff came up and they told us that the guy approached on of them and said that he is going up to see his friend on the floor, so they used their access key to give him access to the lift. They promised to look into it and will investigate. Needless to say nobody was able to sleep much that night. The following morning when we were about to leave the hotel, we were approached by the Front Office Head who tried to give us planners or notebooks as a token. We told him that we want an investigation done and a written report after. They did send us a report but changed the testimony of the security staff the night before claiming that the guy went up through the stairs, and went out the same way. Overall: I guess its a pretty good hotel if it weren't for the security lapse I wouldn't mind staying there again but after that incident I suggest you look at other hotels instead.
