  3 Star Hotel

  When our agent told us this is a 4star hotel, don't have high expection else you be disappointed. 1st night was unbearable as room given was facing main road, you could hear people talking down at the street. So you could imagine most of us in the group tour was complaining the next morning. Out from hotel plenty of food to eat and massage parlour besides hotel or opposite hotel was easily available. Other than food and massage place there's nothing much to offer in the surrounding.

  A good n inexpensive hotel

  All around this hotel are eating places n street food.in the early morning is a morning market (3hrs)just beside the hotel.all kinds of things are sold along the pavements such as poultry,fish,meat,vets,seafood,frogs,fruits n etc.iwe saw many foreigners snapping of the rare events in a typical Chinese market....an eyeopener for outsiders.NOw abt the hotel.It is very well maintained,clean,affordable,centered,.The front desk ppl are helpful n hospitable.Salute to the diner.....for breakfast you can have Chinese or basis American.i would recommend this hotel to travelers.

  Unexpectedly pretty decent

  I stayed here overnight because I had a connecting flight to Vancouver. I was able to stay here free of charge due to my layover. The staff hardly spoke English but they have wifi in the lobby so you could use google translate to communicate. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The hallways however smelled like smoke because they allow smoking in the rooms. I would request a nonsmoking room if it bothers you. They provide free breakfast and there are taxis that drive by the hotel often. The ride to the airport was about 10-15 mins depending on traffic. One of the bell boys spoke a but of English so he was super helpful. If you have a layover you can leave your luggage in the lobby and pick them up anytime. I'd stay here again!

  bathroom - no hooks to hand clothes and towels

  Complaints: 1. The bathroom did not have a single hook to hang clothes and towels. The interior designer missed this out. 2. Dialled 3111 and asked for a spoon to make a beverage. They said, "Don't have spoons for rooms". In the end, went down to restaurant on level 4 where the lady cheerfully lent us one. Praises: 1. Left a Casio wristwatch on breakfast table in restaurant on level 4. The staff kindly kept it safe and returned it promptly when we returned to the hotel at night. So grateful and relieved. Thank you to the waitress and greeting staff. 2. Hooray hotel was the 1st hotel we stayed at in 3 days that already had the 3rd bed set up in the room when we arrived. Unlike the 1st 2 hotels, Shantou Golden Gulf Jasper hotel and Chaozhou Riverside hotel which did not have 3rd beds in our triple share room, Hooray hotel already had a roll-away bed set up . We did not have to call. A nice city hotel to stay in Xiamen

  Will only stay if need to be near airport

  Room is very spacious but furnishings dated with smoky smell. There is only a supermarket and a Chinese restaurant nearby. The Chinese restaurant serves delicious food at reasonable price though. It takes 10-15min that costs about 18rmb to reach the airport. However it is very inconvenient as you have to drag your luggages all way out to the main road to flag the taxis. The walk to the main road though short is with 1-step up and down pavements. Challenging if you have large luggages. The taxi drivers do not help you to load them into the taxi boot. All DIY style.
