The 2020 of Hotel StaysAlmost unilaterally terrible. Got into the room to find the kitchen from the stove to up on the cupboards coated in grease, the dishes still had coffee residue in it (i could wipe it with my finger, so it wasn't a stain), and the dishwasher had chunks of old food in it. Bed was bear minimum comfy. End of Day 1. Day 2 saw crowds of people all over the hotel with no masks on, and not social distancing despite the hotel having it as a clearly posted policy; and, as a surprise to no one, the staff did *expletive* all about it. Decided to skip the weak excuse for breakfast due the the crowd. Whatever, I was going to be gone all day. Come back later that day to hit the hay to find that the hotel was invaded by bratty hockey kids and their brattier parents. Kids running up and down the halls all night (still no masks on), so i went to the desk to complain. Proceeded to get verbally assaulted by three of the (unmasked) parents, and surprise *expletive* surprise, the staff STILL did nothing about either the kids or the parents that i won't describe out of fear that this warning of a review could get removed for excessive profanity. Worst part, as of this writing it is STILL day 2. Stay away from this hotel, unless you are a part of a group or event, in which case you could light the front desk on fire and the staff wouldn't risk even waging a finger at you.

Not clean despite Hiltons much touted Lysol cleaning programThis is a pretty hotel with great potential, but inept housekeeping and poor adherence to pandemic health practices. None of the other guests in the hotel were were wearing masks in the halls despite stated policies. The attached conference center hosted a pro wrestling tournament Sunday night that clearly exceeded the maximum gathering size of fifty. After the fun was over the tear down crew was packing up and yelling instructions to each other outside our room until 1030 pm. Hilton touts their sanitization program using Lysol products but if they cant get the visible dirt then I doubt their ability to address invisible germs. At checkin I found a used bath towel left from the previous guests, an old plastic shopping bag in the utensil drawer, fingerprints all over the refrigerator, some sort of chocolate stain on the arm of the couch, sticky tile floors in the kitchen and bathroom, coffee stains on the counter and desk, mold/mildew in the shower, and debris on the carpet. Since there were no remaining rooms available I requested the floors and shower to be cleaned the next day. I wiped down all the coffee and chocolate stains and cleaned off the refrigerator using cleaning wipes we brought with us. The next day after the promised cleaning, we still had sticky floors and I vacuumed carpet. I ended up scrubbing the floors with the washcloths to get them clean and gave up on getting the carpet done. Old exercise equipment had been removed from the gym and left outside the front of the building in a trailer. The gym thermostat was either broken or misprogrammed since it was 78 degrees in the fitness center. This was exacerbated by the fact the water dispenser was empty. So, plan on overheating and dehydration if you go for a workout. This property is going to be run into the ground in short order, and Im certainly not excited about a repeat stay.

Disappointing StayThe cleanliness of the hotel needs work. Chewed gum and chicken bones were found on the floor of our room on check in. Thick dust under the night stand. We are sensitive to this as we have a crawling baby. Finger prints on surfaces show that nothing was wiped down. We sanitized the room ourselves with Clorox wipes. Trash was built up in the hallways, and full trash bags stored in the vending/ice room. Obnoxious neighbors let their kids run up and down the halls without masks. Adults in common areas, hallways, elevators didnt wear masks. Please post and enforce your mask policy for your guests safety. The mattresses are very soft, really irritated my back. We actually left early and didnt even stay our second night. We were hoping for smart TVs in a new hotel, but they were actually quite old. They had Chrome Casts attached, but it didnt work on either of our TVs. The front desk just gave us a phone number for IT. The pool is small and was easily overrun by before mentioned unsupervised obnoxious kids. The hot tub is nice, but felt scummy and could use a deep clean. One staff member serving breakfast made a long wait, and was only offered 7-9a on a weekend. We only stayed because it was a busy weekend in town and needed a place to hold a small birthday gathering. The 2 queen suite was a perfect size for us and the kitchen was appreciated. All problems could be solved by better management and trained staff. I understand COVID is tough but Hilton should be ashamed charging $180+/night for this service.

Large room, Plenty of Choices in AreaA friend and I chose the Homewood for an overnight. We enjoyed the large room (L-shaped with separate living, sleeping and kitchen areas), with full kitchen facilities including a refrigerator and freezer. Employees wore masks. Local laws do not require masks but signs say they're required for guests although there were guests in the public areas such as the lobby with out asks, so this was not enforced. Breakfast had selections as extensive as pre-COVID but all served by people behind plexiglas with a posted menu. My friend had biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and sausage; I had oatmeal and an apple. There's not much within walking distance other than the Arena and more hotels, but 9th Street is 5 minutes or so away and has a wide selection of franchises. It was a good overnight stay.

Another great weekend stay.Keeping everyone safe in general use areas of the hotel. Our room was sanitized and completely sealed afterwards to meet expectations for these trying times. Always enjoy the time with family when we can stay here.
