  Clean, comfortable hotel

  First time staying overnight in North Bay and with this hotel quite near the water, I was attracted to it. The price was a little bit higher than I would've liked, but the quality and comfort of the stay was worth it. The hotel room -- a studio -- was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. As a few other reviewers had mentioned, they were very clever in how they're handling the COVID situation by adding stickers and posters explaining what was cleaned and how it was cleaned. (Obviously I cannot confirm or deny this actually occurred, but certainly the room appeared to be very clean and tidy). The bed was extremely comfortable and the noise levels were non-existent. The staff was friendly and even went out of their way to chase me down when I wandered down the wrong hallway looking for the elevator. Oh, and the room came with a full fridge, induction stove, and microwave. The shower's water pressure was excellent as well! No complaints there! I wasn't staying long enough to use them, but I'll keep it in mind for next time. Two oddities I want to point out, though. First, the room layout was such that there was a sofa on one extreme side of the room and the bed on the other side with a TV in the middle. Neither the couch nor the bed has a view of the TV, and barely a view if you tilted the TV towards either. Essentially, the only way to watch the TV was from a desk chair that was meant more for eating or doing work. Secondly, the towel bar was broken to the point where it fell off. (See the pic as illustration). There was no screw holding it in place. All it took as me trying to remove the towel for the thing to come tumbling down. Assuming the cleaning staff cleaned the towel rod and replaced the towel, they easily would have noticed this was the case -- and yet it wasn't either fixed or some sort of note warning me to be careful with the towel. But that aside I'd very much stay there again and look forward to it!

  Understaffed and Unfriendly Front Desk

  My wife and I have stayed in Homewood Suites by Hilton North Bay from Oct 9th to Oct 12th, 2020. It seems that there was no housekeeping crew available for the entire weekend. I understand that routine housekeeping is not provided due to COVID19, however, and as stated on the room information sticker, it should be available upon request. On Friday afternoon, we have requested housekeeping to be provided on Saturday, the front desk told us they need 24hrs notice for the service, so we requested to schedule housekeeping for Sunday morning. To make sure the request has gone through, I stopped by the front desk on Saturday evening, but the front desk [evening crew] said they don't typically provide any housekeeping for a 3-nights stay, even upon a request, contradicting both the hotel policy and the promise that we've been given in the morning.  To our disappointment, the room was not cleaned on Sunday as well, so we called for fresh towels. However, the front desk told us their short-handed and we need to go downstairs to pick them up. This is all happening on a weekend where the hotel is fully booked, expectedly.  Lastly, the sitting area for breakfast is open, but no cleaning services are provided. It's impossible to know which table has been cleaned/sanitized since there's no systematic label management provided. Long lines to get breakfast and empty trays [bread, utensils, yogurts, etc.].

  Nice Clean Room

  Nice Clean Room, was a little disappointed with having to schedule a half hour swim due to COVID restrictions, but was happy that they extended our swim time to an hour because it wasnt booked and gave us a late check out

  Not What I Expected

  As a Hilton Gold member I enjoy staying at a number of Hilton properties throughout the year. I was impressed by the reviews for this property and looked forward to our stay. Unfortunately the hotel fell short in terms of the room itself. Here were some of the issues: -roof was damaged and had water stains -mildew in the bathroom -furniture was worn -smell in the kitchen and bathroom -smell of cannabis shaping into bathroom vent. On the plus side, the breakfast was good and the staff seemed friendly. Room was quiet.

  Homewood for the night

  Another night at the Homewood. Clean and bright like all properties. All the Covid plexiglass up at front desk. New Covid style breakfast room with hot coffee. Not sure if pools are open but most likely closed cause of the bs Covid
