  So impressed

  This was our first visit to this particular Homewood Suites and it was a pleasant surprise. The front desk personnel were helpful and friendly, gave us a couple of bottles of water and a snack when we checked in. The lobby was extremely clean. We found our suite to be just what we needed, and each room had been thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and a sticker affixed to the door to indicate this fact. This hotel was letting each clean room rest for 24 hours before occupying again. During the Covid crisis, this was important to us as retired people. Everyone that we saw wore a mask. We were short an extra set of towels, and they were quick to remedy that. The room was extremely quiet on the 4th floor; we had a small dog with us and the hotel was happy to accept the pet. Thank you Homewood, for a very nice nights stay!

  This is our best Homewood Suites stay yet, and we've had a lot of them...

  I was happy even before we showed up. We originally booked a 3 bedroom suite so the 5 of us could spread out (2 adults, 3 older kids), but I got a call early the day of arrival to let me know there was an issue with that room, but they could offer me a 2 bedroom instead (still plenty of room!). The manager absolutely made the situation right, and I gladly took the 2 bedroom. It turned out to be the largest 2 bedroom Homewood Suites we'd ever had. The bedrooms were side by side and nearly full size, and they emptied into the kitchen/living room area. It was more private than the normal style 2 bedroom for sure! The room was very clean on top of the disinfecting that is now done. We supplied our own breakfast in our room, but we did go down for coffee and saw the breakfast procedure. You are now served by staff instead of buffet style. I think I only saw one person eating in the area the entire time we were there. It was super quiet. I'm sure it helped that the occupancy was low, but we never heard another door slam or people talking in the halls. Loved that. We stayed here in lieu of staying in Gettysburg because of the room size and the difficulty we had finding a room for a family of 5 in the tourist area. It is an easy one hour drive to the battlefield. We also spent some time in Hershey/Harrisburg, which is only 90 minutes away. I have already recommended this hotel to another family of 5 looking to tour the area!

  still the best around

  My wife and I stayed for our usual fall vacation here and things were excellent Because of the pandemic the hotel was pretty empty. Still had breakfast bar-only difference is the staff served you instead of you doing it. Evening social only 2 nights now and just a small snack-no meals anymore.. My only minor complaints were limited breakfast hrs that ended at 830am to early for people on vacation. And the evening social only had booze-no soft drinks-tea juices etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay

  REALLY Strong Smells & Good Service

  We stayed at Homewood Suites after having to stop unexpectedly in Hagerstown. We had previously had AMAZING experiences at Homewood Suites which was the reason we chose this one. We ultimately had two rooms during our stay: Room #1 (5th floor): The entire floor smelled like something was on fire. The room itself wasn't bad when we entered. HOWEVER, by 10:30 the smell of some type of smoke had filled the room. When I opened the bathroom, the smell POURED out. I couldn't even go in the bathroom because the smell was so bad. I initially reported it, but the smell persisted. Around 11, I finally went down to the front desk to ask for a different room. The gentleman at the desk was VERY accommodating (although appeared to be relatively indifferent to the problem). "Smells rise up," when I asked if the room would smell better. Room #2 The 4th floor smelled normal and didn't reek of smoke. We weren't happy about packing up and relocating at 11, but the next room smelled better. With that being said, the room did smell like it had been bathed in Febreeze. However, I'll take the smell of Febreeze over the smell of smoke any day. Other comments: - Dinner & Breakfast tasted great. - Bed was very comfortable. - Staff was friendly and helpful.

  Stayed here 19 Feb 2021. All employees were excellent and friendly. We stayed in One bedroom king suite. Issues we had were cleanliness/supplies. Even though remote had wrapper around it saying it was sanitized, it was dirty, fingerprints on furniture, long hairs on shower curtain, no fan in bathroom, no shampoo, no laundry bag. Breakfast was excellent. Considering Covid restrictions they really did a good job; bacon, pre-made omelets, hash browns, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, muffins. Breakfast workers were very nice. There was a guest in breakfast area without mask with a productive cough. Yuck!
