Great location and hotel just off the expresswayVery nice Homewood Suites that offers an evening food buffet with beer and wine. Nice seating area to watch tv and eat and relax during a random snow storm in northern Texas! Breakfast Buffett was also awesome and highly recommend this chain for business or pleasure travel.

Beautiful hotel/location; however, some issues, probably due to covidStayed here 2 nights Memorial Day weekend. Overall a nice hotel in a great, safe, beautiful location. Our room (331) overlooked Unicorn Lake and was probably the best hotel view we've ever had. The outside pool area was also very nice. And the young man working the front desk the day we arrived was very friendly and helpful. We were right by a few restaurants, so that was nice. It was also great that we only paid $82 a night using our military discount on the Hilton app. I'm sure the lowered price was due to covid. We did have a few issues, however. The first room we had, after unloading all our stuff, we realized the a/c in the living area didn't work (was running but not blowing air). We were then moved to another room. The hallways on every floor were very warm. In fact, I felt warm air blowing from one of the vents. On Saturday night there was no ice in any of the ice machines. My husband went to the 3rd floor ice machine first, as that is the floor we were on. No ice. Went to 2nd floor machine. A sign stated only ice on 3rd & 1st floors. Went to 1st floor machine. No ice. Had to go to front desk to get ice. Front desk's explanation for no ice was that people come to the ice machine and fill up ice in their coolers. When we went swimming, we went to the front desk to get towels and 2 different days they had no swimming towels available. Not a huge deal. The 1st time, front desk immediately offered regular room towels. 2nd time, front desk stated sorry, no towels. Hubby said he would just go to his room to get towels then, and at that point she offered regular towels. We always look for hotels with a fitness center so we can work out. Due to covid, many hotels have not reopened their fitness center, but I called first and made sure this one was open. They said we just needed to go to the front desk to get a key for it (due to only a couple people being allowed in the fitness center at a time..understandable). It was a super long walk from our room to the front desk and then back to the fitness center, which turned out to be a good thing as it was the only exercise we ended up getting. The fitness center felt warm (it was set at 72, but it felt uncomfortably warm, especially if one were to begin working out & breaking out a sweat, & there were no fans, not even built into the exercise machines. But, most importantly, 2 of the 3 machines didn't work properly. There were 2 treadmills & 1 elliptical. The elliptical, my machine of choice, I kept hitting "quick start" and nothing would happen - it kept saying "press quick start" across the screen but nothing would happen. I even tried unplugging & plugging it back in. I tried the program buttons and nothing worked. Finally I got one of the program buttons to work, but the resistance stayed stuck on 5 and wouldn't decrease (only increase). One of the treadmills didn't work at all and my husband said he thinks the other treadmill may have gotten started up finally but by that point I was ready to leave. Also, there were dumbbells but the 2 10 lbers were missing, which are the weights I like to use. So, the fitness center was a big disappointment. I'm assuming due to covid they have not had the machines serviced lately. Also, they are not offering their complimentary evening social right now, nor is their breakfast open, though they do provide a grab and go back with fruit, muffins, & granola bars. Other than that, it was a great hotel, and we will probably give them another try once all this covid mess is over with and the hotel can return to normal functioning.

Short of PerfectI have knocked off a couple of stars because of one tragic flaw in this hotel. All Hilton family three-star hotels have this problem, but at this hotel it is worse than ever. The problem? The toilets are too short. I couldnt measure, but trust me. Not only did it make mounting and dismounting the machine difficult, it results in a very small clearance between the seat and the water level. It is all too easy to get parts of ones body, specifically what the Brits call ones dangly bits, wet during a session of use. This, alas, is a deal breaker for future stays here. Also a couple of cleaning folks were wearing their masks at half staff, or as a chin bra. I mentioned this to the desk clerk and she said she would speak to the people about it. I didnt notice a recurrence after that. They have hand sanitizer machines at the elevator door on each floor, but both the one on my floor and that on the lobby floor were either out of stuff or didnt work for our entire five-day stay. Otherwise a perfectly okay hotel.

Overcharged by $2695. Im suing.I stayed for 45 days at an agreed rate of $77 per night. The hotel began overcharging my card immediately. I brought this to the manager Emily Wrights attn. and she got angry and berated me and told me I should be grateful that I got a good rate. Wright said those were only authorizations. My bank said that they were hard charges and paid, they were not authorizations. I complained numerous times and they said I would have to get a refund from their billing vendor Fusebox. When I checked out they had charged me $6310 for a $3615 stay. I found out that Wright had went into my reservation and changed the rate to $159 a night without notifying me and lied about knowing how the charges were being made. I have all the documentation to say my rate was $77. I have had to get an attorney to attempt to get my money back but Im fighting Hilton. Do Not Stay at Denton Homewood Suites. This manager is shady and is a liar. Ed Rollins
