Just OkEveryone we encountered at the hotel was very friendly. The rooms are in dyer need of refurb and a deep clean. I expect some wear and tear at any hotel that is busy and attached to a water park, but it was below Hilton standards. The beds were comfortable thankfully and the sheets were clean. The rest of the cleaning was done in a rush. There was some hair in the shower that had been missed and both shampoo and conditioner was out of the pump. We had to request those items. We used Hilton points for one night of our stay . If we would have had to pay full price, my husband would have complained to management. Would I stay here again? Probably not unless it was a free night.

Great Deal (Water Park for Kids)I stayed here in April of 2020 as I was moving cross country to MT. The room was spacious and clean. I was surprised that the waterpark that adjoins the hotel was still open and running for hotel guests as this was at the height of covid. I got the room at a great deal and I enjoyed my stay. If I'm in the area again, I'd stay here again.

Very DisappointedWe were searching a Hilton property near the airport, due to a 6 AM flight the next morning. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, they were not busy. Front desk person never made eye contact with me, didnt say much. I was concerned when I saw the condition of the entrance area, it was dirty and overall lacked attention. The window shades in the room were basically inoperable, frayed on the edges, bathroom door was broken and wouldnt close. The bed linens were clean but very worn. Then I received a text asking if everything was ok with the room, so I proceeded to tell them about all the issues I had noticed. I then requested 2 extra pillows and the complimentary water that I didnt receive when I checked in. Received another text saying that she was working alone (there was a young man behind the counter when we checked in), and she would have it ready for me. Then she proceeded to tell me there are a lot of repairs needed, but Covid had set them back. This hotel is adjacent to an indoor water park, BEWARE! Its fine for family lodging, but definitely a no-no for an older couple, but I really didnt think it would be a busy time on a Sunday night, on Jan 3. By the time I got down to the front desk, it was a new desk clerk. She was friendly and possessed the personality associated with customer service. I would not stay here again.

For waterpark guests who don't care about COVID protocolsWe knew this hotel was attached to a water park when we booked it, and our reason for choosing the hotel had nothing to do with the water park. We wanted a name-brand hotel with kitchenette near Mt Rushmore, Custer Park and other sites we were visiting. That being said, our experience was completely dictated by the water park attendees. A quiet stay on Thursday turned into a noisy, COVID nightmare on the weekend. It doesnt matter what Hilton publishes on websites or hotel signage, or how many handiwipes they provide, their guests dont wear masks and dont socially distance. Also, the staff doesn't consistently wear masks either, as we witnessed at their front desk. In addition, the walls are wafer thin and we heard even our quiet neighbors, plus kids racing down the halls hyped on adrenaline, caffeine or both. Other observations: our King Studio room had lots of nice features. The bed was comfortable and there was ample storage space for our stuffand we were packed for a 2-month ski trip including skis, snowboards, and a huge amount of luggage. There were shelves, drawers, a wardrobe and desk space aplenty. The kitchenette is well stocked and the dishes were clean and in the dishwasher when we arrived. There is no stove or traditional oven, which we knew when we reserved the room. There was a sewage smell coming from under the kitchen sink. Water pressure in the bathroom was pretty anemicwe were on the 4th floor. Until the weekend, the fitness center was clean. It had modern equipment including 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 recliner bike, dumbbells and a pulley machine, and individual tvs at each station. Guests do not wear masks in the gym and dont clean the equipment. The guest laundry is adjacent to the fitness center and allows for credit card payments. Breakfast was to go in the lobby and basically consisted of a pre-boxed meal of bagel and cream cheese, granola bar, and sometimes, hardboiled eggs. There is also self-serve coffee in the lobby. It seems that this hotel has tied its future and reputation to the waterpark and we would not recommend staying here for any other purpose.

COVID Cop outFirst impression is everything, When we checked in I was impressed, Nice grounds, Very nice lobby, all current and kinda posh. Retro theme 70's, in lime green and orange, but square and chunky from the furniture to the desk and chairs. The studio suites are awesome, large open areas, a divider curtain was a nice touch. The carpets are tile squares in rotating colors. Beds were comfortable, with down filled pillows, a was thermostat to control heat, and cooling. Walk in showers with sliding doors, even the bathroom door was a pocket door to save space. The cop out was from the start, When I checked in I requested to have the towels and garbage changed during the day when I was out, I told that to the clerk upon check in, Then after our return the first day, when we entered our room, NOTHING was done, dirty towels still in the bathroom and no garbage change. I had to go down to the front desk and get ALL of the towels for our room, Plus toilet paper. Very embarrassing for me. The next morning before we left, I called the front desk and had requested the same thing for that day, I put our dirty towels in the hallway, along with the garbage, and upon our return, in front of our room door, on the floor in a garbage bag was all of our clean towels, the room was not serviced, towels in the bathroom, and the trash never emptied. Obviously the staff can't understand plain english. This COVID is a cop out for anyone in the service industry to avoid doing the job required. By the way, I just joined Hilton Honors the night before. What a nice way to impress a new customer. I guess Best Western wants my money more than Hilton
