  Traveled for granddaughters appointment at Gillette Childrens Specialty Healthcare

  We traveled from Iowa with our Daughters family for an appointment our toddler granddaughter had at Gillette Childrens Healthcare Specialty at 9:00 AM.. We had stayed at that same Home2 Suites by Hilton last summer and when the location of the hotel was discovered to be right next to the clinic, with winter in Minnesota and morning rush hour traffic, it was the perfect location. FYI...There are no discounts for hotel guests that are there for medical appointments with the clinic..that is too bad considering the location. About the hotel... There is a complimentary breakfast. The Breakfast Bar is just that...a long bar with food above and refrigerators below...I had to search for the milk (in cartons) and coffee cups. Both are found below. You can find omelets and breakfast sandwiches, refrigerated and wrapped. There is a number on the wrapper pertaining to the setting for you to microwave yourself. There is also hot oatmeal, cold cereal, donuts, yogurt, bread and a belt toaster, wrapped boiled eggs, two waffle irons and I am not sure what else as far as breakfast food goes. You will also find regular dinner plates and table ware. There is a container to place your dishes and tableware after eating. Breakfast is only 3 hours, 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM. It may have different hours for weekends. I am not sure. We always try to make sure we are up and ready early to avoid any breakfast rush. This trip we were there during the week and we had the area pretty much to ourselves. Our last trip was a weekend trip and last summer visiting family. I thought were up by 6:15 and eating with plenty of space. An hour or so later, there was a backed up line at the bar of families trying to get breakfast for their kids. With the area being linear and not a lot of space between the table has people sitting and eating. There is another eating area...not terribly big but you can take your food to your room as there is a kitchen. We were surprised at so many families leaving with coolers and bags. It was a Minnesota Fair weekend. Both times my husband and I stayed in the 1 King bed no smoking suite and we thought the room was very generous in size. The staff there was very nice and helpful. We thought we might have to stay a third night due to a procedure that was suggested and not expected. Hector was so kind to help us with that. It turned out we didnt need the third night after all. Thank you Hector!!! Home2 Suites has a cleaning schedule different from what we are use to in other hotels...you will find that schedule on the bathroom mirror. According to the schedule, there is no cleaning on the weekends unless requested. I only had one complaint this trip. I meant to mention it at the front desk. But will mention it here. I went to take a shower and noticed a few hairs as well as a few brownish soap scums spots on the walls only. The floors were clean. For my own comfort level I wiped the shower down before using it. I use to clean houses for a living...in a dry shower or tub, a vacuum hose will suck up all hairs, it keeps them from getting caught in your cleaning cloths allowing them to be deposited elsewhere...please just one more glance to make sure everything is clean. I know housekeeping works hard and has a schedule to keep, but returning guests and good reviews are priceless. Everything else in our room was clean and we even came back from being out and about, our bed was made. I do have one question. What is the rule about dishes in a suite? I know I would do them. I have no idea what others do. Did I miss written directions in the room? As a rule, we prefer to stay Hampton Inns but We would stay at this location again!

  Great hotel, good location, very friendly staff

  This is a great hotel near major highways but in a quiet location. Easy to get to. The staff was great. I even got a call when I checked in (used digital key so I bypassed the front desk) to see if the room was okay and if there was anything I needed. Room was very clean and quite. Would definitely recommend.

  I had a great stay!

  I was at this hotel for an extended stay due to a house fire. I was comfortable with the accommodations and felt as at home as I could under the circumstances. The staff was friend ly and helpful. They addressed any issues promptly and followed up in person to be sure things were working properly. I would choose this hotel again in a heartbeat!

  Make sure you check your room for cleanliness

  Our first room was dirty. Table had stuff on it, bathroom had hairdryer stuff in it, the couch had garbage and hair ties in it and the carpet was dirty. The second room they moved us to was a lot better. The pool was ok but the hot tub had dirt in it and bubbles...

  Wonderful customer service!

  Matt checked us in and made us feel welcomed! He informed us about the amenities which was very helpful. Keep up the great work! Currently, the pool can used by signing up for a time slot at the desk. It was nice to relax in the hot tub! Our room was nice and clean!
