Finding a Bit of Home While TravelingWe travel often on business and found this hotel to have the best accommodations for what we need: A full kitchen, separate bedroom and living and eating area. Great for ending the day playing dominoes.

Wonderful HotelWe booked a 1 bedroom suite for 1 night before leaving on a cruise from Galveston. This hotel is conveniently located near I-45 and by many good restaurants. Many stores and some gas stations are also located nearby. Our wuite was very large, well equiped, and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was huge and spotless as well. The bed was in a separate bedroom and was very comfortable. The living room / kitchen had a couch, table and chairs, and a desk chair - so plenty of comfortable places to sit. We used the refrigerator, but nothing else in the well equipped kitchen. The breakfast buffet had a reasonable selection of choices. I really like eating off of china plats, with metal flatware and drinking from a glass glass. No paper plater or plastic forks. The hotel does this for environmental reasons, which is fine, but I really like the increase in quality from similary hotels. The staff was friendly and efficient. Both arrival and departure were quick and easy. All in all the stay was ideal. This hotel will be our first choice for future stays in this area.

No serviceI was really disappointed in this hotel. I have been staying at Home2 Suites the past few weeks, and just moved to this one. No services, at breakfast counter. Not even coffee. Sign said it would open up on the 18th of May. Same day I checked in. There is never anyone at the desk. When I did finally speak to someone, they admitted that the owner was not wanting to open it up because of money. Last day there they did even have hot water. Won't be back here. Moving across the street to Staybridge.

Great, especially if youre the type to keep to yourselfTheres some things that couldve improved my stay; however, they dont really detract from my overall experience. Here are some pros and cons: Pros: 1) Very quiet - Perhaps its the fact that I was on one of the upper levels, or maybe I came at a time when not too many guests were staying here, but its very quiet. Even with the few times Ive seen other guests here, its peaceful. The walls seem to be doing their job, since I have not once heard any noise from outside of my own room. 2) Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Theyre attentive yet leave you alone for the most part - yet still manage to make themselves available if you do need anything, which is hard to do. There were times when I did not see staff downstairs at all, but I feel as if it wouldnt have taken very long at all if you needed the staff there at any given moment. Front desk happily answered any questions I had - Im sure my questions to them are things they hear constantly, but they really dont miss a step and explained exactly what I needed to know and in a clear manner. 3) Unique decor, fully furnished rooms - I love the little curtain divider and the simplistic, yet very modern meets classic design of my room. Cons: 1) No Conditioner or lotion - I found it weird to only see body wash and shampoo in the shower. Im glad I noticed the lack of conditioner well before needing to use the shower. My skin was extremely dry. I ended up picking some up at the store that evening. Not a big deal, but I think its definitely a first for me to not see ANY lotion in a hotel room. 2) The cops patrolling the area - I understand theyre supposed to be making the area safer, but as a guest, I did not appreciate the fact that the cops would begin circling the parking lot if they happened to pass by and youre sitting in your car for more than a second. I was not wearing anything noteworthy, I was no committing crimes, I was doing nothing more than gathering my belongings to go inside. At one of the cheaper hotels nearby, Ive heard of the police actually coming on foot up to people while they happen to be in their vehicles, and asking tons of questions. Their behavior suggests the hotel guests are all exhibiting suspicious behavior from the simple act of being outside for more than a few seconds and if Im not doing anything wrong, I shouldnt be made to feel like Im doing something wrong or that I have to go out of my way to prove that Im just minding my own business. 3) Check-out time is 11 a.m. Honestly, if I had known this, I probably wouldve chosen something a bit different - its not a dealbreaker, but I dont like to feel rushed in the morning, and it seems rare to find a room with a checkout time prior to noon, unless its some sort of motel. Overall, my cons are very minor and issues that are more about personal preference than anything else. These issues did not take too much away from my overall experience and I definitely would stay here again.
