  Avoid Unless Dust on High Touch Bathroom Handles is an Anti-Covid Measure.

  Really kind of awful. This is our first trip "out" since the pandemic started. We've been pretty loyal to hilton brands and I really checked Home2Suites out before making the reservations. I stupidly believed all the feel-good cleaning and social distancing stuff on the website. I asked if the room had been empty before we arrived. Manager would not answer or offer a room that had not been occupied for previous 24 hours. This Home2Suites didn't enforce mask policy. When I asked how many people they permit on elevators (our room was on an upper floor) I got a bizarre "WE DON'T HAVE PARTIES MORE THAN 10!" as a non-response. But the worst thing, a friend who has traveled since covid told me to take disinfectant wipes and go over surfaces in the room before we unpack. I was horrified to find dust on HIGH TOUCH SURFACES LIKE BATHROOM DRAWER HANDLES, THE BATHROOM DOOR HANDLE, THE TOILET PAPER HOLDERS, AND YES, THE GRAB BAR LOCATED NEXT TO THE TOILET. No, it's NOT THE DUST THAT BOTHERS ME. Theoretically, if such "high touch" surfaces are, in fact, really cleaned and disinfected regularly, shouldn't the dust have been picked up as well? So, long story short between the 10 people on an elevator, a slightly sour smelling lobby, a non-responsive a non-helpful manager and covid-era dust on high-touch surfaces, please find another place. It's really clear this place isn't willing to put the extra cost into safety.

  Nice Room and Friendly Staff

  My wife and I stayed here one night while driving through the Phoenix area. The hotel room was clean and spacious and the staff was friendly. The location is convenient to restaurants and shopping if that is of interest to you. It was helpful to us to be able to go to a restaurant nearby after a long day of traveling. We'll stay here again if the opportunity arises.

  Not a good experience

  We stayed for four nights and asked twice to please have our room cleaned. The first time they only emptied half the garbage and just pulled the blanket up on the bed over dirty sheets. Left dirty towels, dirty dishes and didnt sweep floors. Asked again for a cleaning and finally changed sheets and emptied some of the garbage. Still left dirty towels and dishes and dirty floor. They allowed people to walk around with no masks on! For the price very disappointed.

  Great Place to Stay

  I travel to AZ every year to do some golfing and although Home2 was not my original accommodation , I moved over after one night atTru. What was wrong with Tru, you might ask? TRU is not for everyone, it is for the minimalist traveler who doesnt care about size of room and amenities. Dont get me wrong TRU, is modern, new, and has a very gracious staff but I prefer suites so it is my fault that I did not connect the dots..Hampton Inn and SUITES, Home2 SUITES and TRU. All three Hilton Brands are are on the same property. Ryan and his team are amazing at all locations. Jerika remembered me from last year. How nice is that? COVID has scaled back some of breakfast offerings and frequency of housekeeping but all in all I recommend these three properties. Home2 rooms are big and spacious with full size fridge, micro wave, and dishwasher. I like the way you get a text shortly after you check in wanting to know if your room is ok? Staff goes out of way to be friendly especially Sean ( we introduced ourselves) and he called me by name every time I saw him. Moriah and Gerry are great reps of the Hilton brand as well. I had an issue with black out shades (batteries were dead) but maintenance (Alex) fixed in no time. This hotel has great access to freeways, State Farm stadium, many restaurants, and my favorite Desert Diamond casino. I look forward to returning to Home2 later in the year. Rates vary between hotels but are reasonable.
