  Couples Weekend in Downton Charlottesville-Great Location

  This hotel was within walking distance of so many great restaurants and our shuttle for the Hop On Wine Tour. However, it was a pet friendly hotel and we were told we could not have a pet free room. This could have been a big problem for us, but it worked out. Some people even brought their dogs into the dining area. Ugh. We probably won't stay there again.

  First Family visit in this area

  rooms were clean and accommodate our family needs. lots of space for my grandchildren. loved to kitchen setup. housekeeping staff were awesome. All staff was very helpful. Breakfast setup had good variety.

  Great room, great bed, poor service from front desk.

  The Lady at the front desk was rude and the staff charged the card I specified them to NOT charge. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Would have been a great experience had the lady not been difficult to deal with at check in. Then at check out the guy charged the card I asked him not to.

  Decent facility, non compliance with health requirements

  Overall, this is your run of the mill Home2 suites. Facilities are relatively modern and it provides easy access to downtown. That said, health considerations related to COVID-19 were poor and anyone at higher risk for the disease should seriously reconsider their stay. Most employees were not wearing masks or had them below their mouth. Additionally, room surfaces were clearly not completely cleaned.

  Nice hotel - but improvement needed

  We came here during Covid phase 3 reopening so we knew the hotel wasnt running normally. The hotel itself was modern, bright and the room was very clean. However, we were disappointed that we often saw staff with masks pulled down or not on at all. There was no hot food at breakfast due to Covid but to be honest the set up meant everyone touched the fridge handle to get milk, the drawers where the cereals were kept and the coffee urns. There was no sanitiser in sight and we didnt see anyone wipe these high touch points or the tables people were sat at. The breakfast bags were just a packet muffin and cereal bar,both of which contained a lot of sugar so I wasnt keen. The location is great - a short 5-10 min walk into the downtown mall area. The room has a well stocked kitchenette with most things youd need for a short stay. We got more coffee etc when we requested it but there was no housekeeping over the weekend. Not sure if this was a Covid thing but a bit of a let down. A couple of other issues - the pool was shut due to mechanical issues which we only found out when we arrived and the lift from the underground parking was broken the entire time we were there. Overall it was a nice enough hotel, and it may be better once It operates normally but I just felt there was more they could do to make people feel at ease using the hotel, as weve seen done elsewhere, and perhaps lower the price to reflect the current value.
