  SIU Carbondale Move-In

  Great experience at this clean, new hotel in downtown Carbondale. The lobby area was very clean and impressive. The desk clerk was attentive and check-in was simple. Our room was located on the 3rd floor of the hotel. The room was spacious and well thought-out. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to the Carbondale area.

  Just love this place!

  This is the third time staying here since it opened. The hotel is quirky modern and clean. The rooms are large and opened now with seating area(pull out couch), bed, and a curtain to divide. The layout is nice with kitchen area/desk/closet. Everything we needed! Breakfast was a to-go bag(nothing fancy), but realize this is a precedent time with covid. Beds and linens are super comfy. We used the outdoor seating area on a perfect summer night. Weve been here before when parking is an issue, so hoping they can figure out something.

  Wonderful and clean

  The room was immaculate. Room has it all. Mini kitchen, with sink, microwave, dishes, dishwasher, fridge, and hot plate upon request. Storage for package food items. Office area with pull out table we used for meals. Couch with sleeper sofa. Queen size bed with hanging closet and drawers. We were able to stay away from the restaurants and COVID19. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Boxed breakfast you go get at front desk in the morning. We were there the hike Shawnee National Forest. We spent 6 days/5nights. Location within 1 hour or less most hiking inareas. We will stay here again

  Worst

  I stayed at this property when it first opened and thought it was ok. Im here again because the location is convenient to where I needed to go. It is terrible this time. No service, no coffee, breakfast is a cold pack, no housekeeping even when you make a request. Not a thing positive to stay about this place. A tent in the park would be better.

  Great Stay

  Stay Report - 11/10 to 11/11 Location: The hotel is located in Downtown Carbondale near the intersection of US 51 and IL-13 and is right across from the Paul Simon Federal Building and the Carbondale Amtrak Station.  You can walk to the downtown restaurants and bars as well.  The area is pretty quiet but seemed safe enough to me. Hotel: This was my first Home2 Suites so I didn't know what to expect.  Overall though I was very impressed.  The hotel is new which is always a plus.  It has a big parking lot, large lobby with business center and what is normally their breakfast area though it's currently closed.  The elevators and common areas are all really nice too. Check In: The friendly agent on duty thanked me for being Diamond and apologized for the lack of services due to COVID.  He also made sure I got my welcome amenity points Room: Actually quite nice.  Nice sized kitchen with new fixtures and appliances.  Living room area with a couch.  Desk and large TV and a decent sized King bed.  The Wifi worked well and there were plenty of outlets.  The bathroom was a little on the small side and the toiletries are limited to one bar of hand soap and big tanks of bath gel and shampoo. Overall a good option for Carbondale.  It's downtown and new and I was very happy with my stay.
