Not Good Check-in ProcessThe hotel's location is really good and easy to find, taxi driver had no problem locating the place. Check-in was really horrible, there was only 1 staff at the reception handling at least 5-check-in and 2 check-out all at the same time. Plus there is no clear line where is check-in and check-out so everyone was just cutting the lines. The manager came up 30 minutes too late to help with the process. The staff also got really confused with multitasking of handling all of us and taking room reservation all at the same time, quite the juggler. There was also a pillar in the middle of nowhere near the reception counter which really makes your space even tinier. The room was ok in a sense, not too big, not too small. The luggage cabinet is very tiny that you can open your luggage properly you can only use it store the luggage so it doesnt take up space. The internet was free and easy just plug and go, no click or anything. The bathroom was adequate, I would caution on opening the toothbrush package amenity as there is a charge for it RMB 50, written in Chinese only on the plastic. No cost for using the shampoo or shower gel so thats good. There is a breakfast option at the cafe on the first floor at RMB 15. Overall the hotel is not bad, but they need to improve the sense of arrival, as no guidance security was not helping directing was just not a good first impression when you arrive.

Great location-Reasonable price and good service.I was visiting friends last summer and for some personal reasons, I could write my comments before today. In any case, the last 4 times I went to Shanghai, (This time, 14 nights) I always stayed at the same place mainly because of its convenience. The hotel is very close to different lines of the subway (Metro) . Reasonably priced this hotel is very clean which is my number one reason for my return and its location of course. Many good restaurants around, great shopping and before all the friendly receptionists. I needed help to set up my computer, (I do not speak Mandarin) and in no time my problems was fixed. Problems with the door lock, same thing, fixed immediately. The staff is very friendly and helped me quite a bit with direction to take, subway lines etc. I always chose a room with windows and the corner rooms has many of them. Pay a little bit more for the largest one. I will definitely stay at the same hotel whenever I return. I must admit and without any kind of discrimination, being caucasian has helped me with the service.

Convenient and cheap hotel with dodgy VPN-proof wifiVery inexpensive and a great location for me. Staff were friendly and helpful. Home Inn is always predictably good in terms of facilities. Internet was not good, however. You have to sign into wifi while in the lobby (who does that?) then it will work in your room. However, mine had persistent problems, so I went to ask at reception. Turns out their method of connecting online doesn't work when I have a VPN switched on. Eventually I got it going, but it was touch and go. As someone who uses Google services for my business, this was a huge problem.
