Located in a Huatong area 2 blocks from the Bund, this hotel has great charm and its location is central to the Bund area attractions. English speaking reception staff, location makes you think that the hotel is nothing more than sleeping outside in an alleyway. Once you see the entrance, the oasis of Home Inn welcomes you into its arms. the Subway is a good 15 minute walk, and the People's Park is a pedestrian only area that is located near mega-malls, restaurants, and fake Rolex watch salesmen. I was able to have my own room with 1 king and 1 single bed for 350rmb, so about $58 a night. For the location, this is money well spent. The breakfast is nice, only 18rmb, but stay with the fresh veggies and fruit, boiled eggs, noodles.. Not the best, but better than nothing...

Dirty and Expensive
I am not one to complain and never give a bad hotel review but I felt this information is important for anyone considering booking this hotel. We stayed in this hotel for one night only. We arrived with our children late in the evening and had no option but to keep the reservation. Our room was covered in large amounts of black mold along the walls. We all know that black mold is a serious health concern and can cause significant illness. The clerk tried to tell me it was no big deal. There were greasy hand stains along the walls, There was black hair in the sink. I asked the hotel clerk if we could at least change rooms to one without mold and was told the hotel was full. The rate for the room was expensive despite what others have said. For health reasons alone I would avoid this hotel.
