  Worst vacation ever

  When we went in to check in manager was reading a newspaper. She never acknowledged us. We said we would like to check inn. Her reply-come back at 4 thats check in time, never looked at us. We said we made arrangements for early check in - reply we dont do that we said they even gave us a room # 31 - reply oh your that person. Took her nose out of paper gave us keys and directions went right back to reading newspaper. Husband is handicapped - the room # 31 did not have a walk in shower. Wife went back to office to request another room. A clerk was on duty talking to manager when wife made request manager went into her office. Said clerk would handle. When wife asked question manager answered from her offic the answer that clerk should give. This was a very inappropriate way to handle a complaint. Manger was a very ignorant person. Outcome they do not have a walk-in shower on the premises. When we made arrangements for booking we asked about shower arrangements. We were told that they have showers and bath tubs. Not tubs with showers. Very deceiving. They advertise handicapped units. But there not if not walk-in showers.when the clerk was asked what is a handicapped unit. The manager blurted out a unit with doors wide enough for a wheelchair. Husband was unable to take a shower for the week we stayed. They charged prime time rate. Outside pool was not open wife wanted to sun bath in pool area was denied access due to pool not being ready ( even though she didnt want to use pool). In door pool had a lift for handicapped people. It was broken when asked when it would be fixed reply from manager threw clerk - when we get around to it. Towel rack in bath room broke first time we went to use it. The day we left they didnt get around to fixing. Again prime time many maintenance people trying to get the place open for prime time.

  Nice Location - No-Frills Rooms + 2 Small Pools

  If you want luxury--- Find a hotel or a more modern resort...! This place is quaint and basic, with a friendly staff. It's a nice place to just sleep, after a long day of play, on the Cape... We wanted a centrally located place to stay, after most places had been booked--- HVC had clean, small rooms, plus a heated indoor and (sun-heated only) outdoor pool. Small playground and grills also available. The rooms were a bit cramped, but they had a small sink, a small microwave, a small frig, a coffeemaker and a TV. LOCATION: Less than 3 minutes Walk to Inflatables/Waterpark, Dunkin Donuts, CVS, Ann & Fran's (Breakfast/Lunch), Mike's Roast Beef/Pizza/Subs (!), Luke's WInes/Liquor (supermart!). Less than 5 minutes Drive to Whydah Pirate Museum, Pirates Cove Mini-Golf, Lobster Boat (riverside seafood). Just 15 minutes drive to West Dennis (family) Beach and Skipper's (family) Chowder House (+Ice Cream Shop)...

  What can be said. I used to come to this place as a child and it is a total time warp to be back. The rooms are lightly updated since the 1980/1990s with very nice vinyl wood floors and grey walls and flat screen TVs. It is a very surface update. I have to believe the mattresses on both the pull out and bed are from that era. I can feel the springs in my back. The rooms are well maintained and clean. If you are up for a very cottagey like vacation with no frills this place is for you. This is a very small place for sleeping only. It does have a small kitchenette with a bar fridge and microwave and sink. Im not sure how you could prepare food beyond cereal here - plus with two small kids the eating table was storage because the room was so small. This meant eating out for every meal which you can imagine is $$. This is a 2.5-3 star resort. No frills. It is clean and centrally located to everything you would want to see on the cape. The outdoor pool and park were fun for the kids. Note the indoor pool was closed the entire trip.
