  Very disappointing visit

  first off, I've been to this Holiday inn many times in the past so I was familiar with the hotel and restaurant etc. I booked this hotel because it's close to the airport and the food is great, no need to go out. upon my arrival, I am told that the hotel is now a holiday inn express, no longer a holiday inn, i wasn't quite sure why it matter but it turns out it does. after working 9 hours and a 2 hour drive, I just wanted my room, then get some great food and have a good sleep. the lady at the front desk tells me that the restaurant is now closed, there is no food at the location and that I should call a uber for my food. I was like , what?? she said but theres a good breakfast... so I get to my room, very disappointed but I figure I'll just order in. get to my room and cannot locate the hotel book that usually have the recommended restaurants with menus etc, I call the front desk and I'm told they don't have that and that most restaurant around will deliver using uber. at that point I'm like what the heck ?? I can tell you that if I had known that ahead, there is no way I would have booked this hotel. I started to search and other than pizza, everything is at least an hour wait for delivery. I decided to go out and went to Mongo which is a Mongolian grill about a mile east from the hotel(I recommend) next time I will stay the the Holiday inn airport west, they have a restaurant on-site and it's only about a 5 mins drive to airport. very disappointed and will not return.

  Not impressed!

  The hotel itself was fine but very disappointed in the several not environmentally friendly things. When checking in the receptionist attempted to give me a single use water bottle and fruit snack that was wrapped in non-recyclable plastic. What a waste! No need for the water bottle to be refilled. Despite having a sign about their commitment to taking care of the environment, there was no recycling bin in the room. I was disappointed that the cutlery and dishes were plastic/not recyclable. I don't understand why they can't have re-usable dishes/utensils. So sad!

  Pretty Good

  Everything was pretty good. The room was clean and everything in good working order. Breakfast was decent. Some staff were exceptional and others not very responsive. This hotel is near the airport and will drop off at nearby restaurants but not pick you up even when it is -30. Could easily be five stars with just a bit better service.

  This Hotel I would HIGHLY recommend!!!

  Had to come to Winnipeg for an Emergency and the Staff at The Holiday Inn Express Polo Park were excellent and the room was very clean and staff were so helpful when they knew our situation we would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Hotel

  Feeling safe in here!

  Travelling in the age of the coronavirus is pretty risky and I was terrified about the idea of staying in a hotel. However, holiday inn Polo Park eased those fears pretty quick. There are floor stickers and signage everywhere so you know where to stand to protect yourself And others. Plexiglass Barriers at the check-in. There is a cup for pens that are sanitized and when youre finished using your pen to sign in you can put it in a cup that says used pens. Extra little safety factor there. Nobody gets in without a room key at the front entrance. Nobody gets up the elevator without a room key to activate it. My room was spotless. Gone are the notepads, pens and signage regarding reuse of materials. Gone is the floor mat for outside the shower. Use a towel. Whats the difference LOL the staff were very friendly and because I was leaving extra early in the morning they made sure I had a bagged breakfast to go. They offered to call me a taxi to the airport and asked me if theres anything else they could do for me before I left. This is exemplary service from a hotel. And yes, everyone that I saw working there was masked up. And so was I. Definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who is nervous about staying in one.
