  Decent hotel at a decent price

  Never stayed at the Holiday Inn before with my family, may I start by saying myself, wife & two young children found the staff warm and friendly. (especially two members of staff (Lewis & Brogane) who seemed to go the extra mile, the room's a good size, clean, tidy and well maintained. The Holiday Inn seemed to have good measures in place with social distancing throughout the hotel which made us feel safe in the current climate, breakfast quick, easy and lovely - only down side on breakfast is jugs of hot water served with Tea & coffee sachets, which we found bizarre why not served all together in a Tea pot or Coffee pot ? .......Would we stay again ? YES !!!

  Good hotel at a great price!

  Visiting the North East with family, seeing friends and touring the area. Booked this hotel as it was well located just off the motorway and got a great deal on the rooms. Staff are super efficient and welcoming. Hotel is clean and the breakfast is good! Metro Centre, Angel of the North, Durham, Beamish museum, Newcastle, Hadrians Wall all within easy reach.

  Exceptional Service despite Covid Regulations

  Finally made a reservation and was amazed, from check in all was well, staff were very supportive in every way. All facilities and changes were explained and off we went to our room, I felt at ease and relaxed. Tried a beverage or two and a taxi was called for our trip to the city of Newcastle On return were received and welcomed by a very helpful gentleman who showed us to seats in lounge and organised our drinks order and took the time and interest to have a conversation and assure us everything was good, he made the difference ; in these times this means everything.. later we found out this was Paul Mandeir the General Manager. Nothing too much for him and his team of dedicated staff. As a result we are booking for another stay in a few weeks and the breakfast was superb. Thank you to Mr Mandeir and his team.

  Great little stay

  not a new visitor to this hotel as we've stayed here multiple times. Always received a friendly and pleasant service as returning guests the staff always seem to know!! As always breakfast was first class, rooms were very clean and nothing seems too much trouble for any of the staff and they always happy to help out as they can. The whole team seem to gel together very well. BIG shout out to Les who made sure my little lad had the breakfast from the photo in the lift (a happy smily face). it's the small things that make a big difference.

  Not good

  I stay in Holiday Inns quite a lot but not this one ever again. Rooms a shabby and tired and need a makeover. What was quite noticeable on checking in , was people walking to and fro in pyjamas, going out to smokers corner just outside the door.Obviously being accommodated at the local councils cost. Food was ok , but the place has a grubby feel about it.
