  average to good hotel in this city

  A typical Holiday Inn, though I must say it is not quite in the same standard with the brand elsewhere. Good thing? It is new (from the appearance) so all facility and room look good and clean. it is also right across the train station, so if you fancy train ride in this north east of China it is the hotel to stay. What is bad? The toilet has a design flaw, that it does not have any water drainage in the main toilet room, except for one in the shower room. So when this water drainage is blocked, the water spilled out onto the whole toilet area and there is no way to clean up this water except doing it manually, which is what I had to do late in the night since no one came to clean it up for us (guess it was late, staff was off?). Room and bed was comfortable enough, wifi is strong and good. I did not use any other facility in the hotel (dining, spa etc..) so I can't comment on those.

  A really good place for business travelers

  I stayed here for over a week, and found this hotel to be really convenient, clean, with excellent wifi, and a superb restaurant. The style here is definitely Chinese and its easy to forget that this is an American chain hotel. Located in an attractive city, right across from an impressive train station, I didn't see any foreigners here. There were plenty of Chinese tourists though. The staff was friendly and helpful, but you definitely need a translator app as many do not speak English. The rate was very reasonable for the quality of this hotel. The only thing that I missed was a gym, and I would encourage the management to install one, as this is an essential component of a hotel in my opinion. I look forward to staying here again upon my return on business next year and I certainly hope there is a gym by then. My fellow business traveler likes roast lamb, and he expressed to me that the lamb he had here was the best he ever had in his life, and he is 70 ! The dumplings are amazing, really impressive Chinese food, superb.

  Very nice stay with local touches!

  Not many international chain hotel in this city. Our coworker picked this Holiday Inn & Suites Hulunbuir. It turn out to be a very nice short stay. I was there for two nights for a conference in a near by hotel. The hotel is somewhat local feels but definitely no faults. Check in is fast and room is well prepared. I got upgraded to a suite due to my status in IHG. The room come with separated living room and bed room with full bath and a guest toilet. Somehow the Aircon vent is only in the living room area. When I told the front desk, they are kind enough to loan me a fan to increase the air circulation and both area are cool down rapidly. The breakfast served rather local food and limited western food but I have no complain. It is more like a family dining room. This city people are with very warm touches and it is a surprise to me. Hotel is right across the beautiful train station. Since it is entering the summer with long day light period. I keep walking down to see the train station at different time. What a scenic view! My taxi driver told me not to worry about the safety, although it is next to the train station but never feel any mess like other cities in China.

  Just to sleep a night

  Pretty average. Nice to just stay a night, nothing more. Had some trouble checking in but after some unpleasant encounter with the night staff, rest of stay was uneventful. Breakfast was again very average. Lots of room to improve in my opinion.
