  As hospitality consultants we make it our business to greet people with a smile from all cultures. From Mickea to Jim and everyone in between we encountered - they get 5 stars for smiling and being genuinely concerned we're happy w/ our stay. That Jim goes way beyond his position ensuring guests are satisfied and furnishings are clean! We'd come back just to see what that character is up to!

  Nice rooms and great staff except for the maintenance man

  I stayed at this hotel on March 18th 2020. I arrived at this hotel around 9 pm maybe a little before. When I checked in with the guy at the check in desk I explained that my mom had an operation and kinda ran late. So I asked him if I could stay in the pool past 10 pm and said it was okay as long as I was quiet. So I thanked him went up to my room got my swimming suit on and by the time I got down there it was about 9:30 pm. So I visited with a lady and her child for awhile and the subject came up about the maintenance man who takes care of the pool. She said that when 10 pm hit he came right in and basically shoved them out. Well she left and right on que comes the maintenance man at 10pm. As soon as he came in he said it was time to get out. Didn't ask about how I was doing or my stay. I tried to explain to the Maintenance man that the man at the front desk said it was ok to stay after 10 pm I also explained about my moms surgery and how it ran late. He said he doesn't care, get out. The more I tried to explain to this guy again about what the front desk guy told me and about my late arrival the angrier he got. Again he said get out it doesn't work like that around here. So I left and went up to my room and called the front desk to speak to the manager and explained everything to him and about how rude the guy was and he said he would talk to him right away. I have stayed at several hotels over my life and 98% of the time everyone is polite and courteous. Very few times do I run into a person like this Maintenance man that has no business being in this industry! My mom was in the hospital for about 5 days but wasn't sure how long so playing it day by day booking a room at a hotel. . So I was going to stay at that hotel for those days until I ran into the maintenance man with the bad attitude. So another hotel got my business. However the rest of the stay was great! The rooms were very nice and all of the staff was great except for the maintenance guy. I would have given the hotel 5 stars if it wasn't for the rude maintenance guy thank god forbid someone stay 1 minute past the closing time!

  Comfortable clean accommodations during these COVID times!

  In St. Louis for a couple days while on a longer roadtrip. This hotel was great in terms of location for the sites we were visiting and the friends we were seeing. Easy on/off the interstate. Nice lobby. Friendly staff at front desk, making sure we had everything we needed. COVID safety precautions in effect with plexiglass, mask requirements, social distancing. Comfortable clean accommodations.

  Not a good layover location

  After a long day driving we were looking for a place to relax and unwind before carrying on our travels. I am an IHG member and fan but this hotel made me earn my points on this trip. Friendly staff but not proactive. I thought my TV remote needed batteries but after getting new batteries from the front desk the joke was on me. The remote didnt work and our TV had lines in it. I called desk and he offered to move us. It was 8pm and we just wanted to relax. We dealt with the lines and I routinely got up to change channels for my wife. Thanks for a relaxing evening Holiday Inn (SARCASM FONT)

  Room 168 needs small improvements

  Checked in was with a man that was robotic at 9 pm could use some customer service. No directions to room and I had to ask for wifi not on check in keys. Hotel room had an overwhelming chemical smell. Hubby said bleach but I said a bad cologne that either faded or we got used to in two days. This room needed cleaning on two areas: window curtain stained and bathroom floor grout molded. Bath tub looks like it was painted and now peeling. Faucet was loose and did not get all water to shower half still came out bath faucett. It was quiet, bedding comfortable. I would recommend a slipper for comfort on tile. Easy exit to get on I44 hwy. Price reasonable for a city.
