  Great Staff and Friendly!

  I have been staying at the Holiday Inn Rochester for over 3 months now and have nothing but good things to say about the staff during my lengthy stay. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. They are all so friendly and welcoming in particular, Mike, Brian and Lindley who have been fantastic. They have made my stay more bearable whilst Ive been away from home for so long (thank you) Chris

  As a guest currently staying at the hotel and someone who travels quite frequently I would unfortunately have to say that this hotel is pretty poor. Staff are helpful and friendly but the actual hotel is pretty shabby. You can tell immediately whilst walking through the corridors the age and state of the hotel. Its all very dated and the paintwork looks like its been done by a 10 year old. Also rubbish bags left from Im guessing cleaners in corridors. Upon entering the room, there are a few immediate things that stand out, how dated the room is, the stains on carpets and marks on walls. There are 2 of us staying and also only 1 bathrobe and pair of slippers. Not much attention to detail. The lighting in the room is awful, the main light in the bedroom area is a dim standing lamp, accompanied by 2 wall lamps either side of the bed. The bathroom is OK. Marks of god knows what around the wall behind the toilet, there were some hairs in the bath also. My main concern is that during current times regarding coronavirus, there is not anti bacterial soap in the bathroom, only a bar of soap. Having stayed in hotels since the outbreak, I can say that this hotel is one of the only Ive been to with no anti- bac soap. Due to no fault of the staff, we are unable to book to use the gym or pool as there is no availability during our stay here. I think this could be worked out slightly better so that guests arriving have options to use the facilities at atleast 1 point during their stay. Overall, I guess you get what you pay for but we have stayed in many hotels around the same price and been more than satisfied. In my opinion this hotel needs a lot of work to reach standards of other similar priced hotels.

  In a state of disrepair

  While my stay was refunded in full, our complaint about this hotel was never about the money. The up keep of this hotel is beyond anything I have every witnessed before. Fire exit doors rotting. Poor behaviours and using life safety fire extinguishers equipments as door stops. Pro Hospitality was superb. Staff are all very friendly and attentive to all your needs. Good breakfast Cons. Mould in room, room smelt damp like you wouldnt believe. Tv in room doesnt work. Phone in room doesnt work. Sockets on far side wall also not working. Stains on bed and carpet Toilet extraction fan had no flow. Booked room for 3 however sofa bed not set up for third person Update: no private message relieved from hotel regardless of their comment

  Excellent Staff

  like most people we just need a break from all the normal daily life so I booked this hotel last minuet. Not expecting it to much but as it had a pool my son and I could swim & spend some quality time together. Our room was clean & had everything we need for our 2 night stay. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible and nothing is to much trouble. Thank you so much for making our time away more special. We will be returning in a few months for another short break. Due to covid you do have to book a time slot for the pool so Id advise ringing up the hotel once you have booked your stay and getting a time that suits you ( I didnt know this ) But the staff did all they could and found us a slot for both mornings we were here. five stars from this happy family *****

  Had an amazing stay!

  I really enjoyed my stay at the holiday inn! Considering the lockdown situation due to Covid-19 and being a key worker the staff made the best out of a bad situation. Its a hard time for everyone but they went that extra mile! My bed was comfy and the staff were lovely, Kayleigh in particular who delivered my room service. She was very polite, mature and professional. As she bought my food to my room i asked if shed be able to get me a drink and i felt awful seeing as she had to go downstairs to get it but she made absolutely no fuss whatsoever! The room was nice and it felt very clean too!
