  Jewel of the South China - best hotel and staff ever

  The staff at the Holiday Inn were just amazing from the moment we checked in. I had lost my iphone and the customer relations person Lili - located it in the cab and took us across town to retrieve it - so helpful beyond words. Candy and Jamal and Kelvin were always helpful in making our family holiday so enjoyable. The rooms were immaculate and absolutely perfect as too the foyer and bar areas - I would recommend this hotel to anyone that travels through China and wish all the hotels I stay in the future is equal in cleanliness and hospitality- thank you Holiday Inn Putian

  What an awful experience!

  I was traveling with our one year old and checked in the hotel to meet with some family for the mid-autumn holiday. Right after the room service sent the baby bed in, I went to the bathroom without knowing I would be locked inside for 20min with a stuck door!! After 20min of panicking with the scared screaming baby on the other side of the door, the hotel manager finally managed have someone come in the room and hammer the door down. Thanks to the emergency button and telephone in the bathroom. The manager then gave us an upgrade to the executive suite with complimentary fruit plates and breakfast. The light on the wall was blinking and I soon realized the sink was blocked and the curtain fell off the track on one side. The floor was also not very clean either and I have to constantly stop the baby from putting the dirty stuff in his mouth. When I was trying to put the baby down for a nap, someone was knocking on the door and let himself in before I can answer. He was there to fix the light but then the light only started blinking again after he left. At least he fixed the blocked sink.

  Very nice hotel, very good service. Especially their outdoor swimming pool, where swimming in the evening is very comfortable and the scenery is pleasant. During the hotel epidemic, the protection was also in place, and all were contactless services. Breakfast is also very good.

  Best Holiday Inn I have stayed in!

  Having stayed in Chinese hotels in various parts of Fukien province on my tour, it was so nice to really stayed in a professionally run hotel with service with a smile! The room was immaculate, spacious as was the bathroom with full toiletries amenities. At breakfast, the spread was excellent and the service was warm and cheerful with smiling staff ever ready to assist. There was even nice piped in music! The elevators were pleasantly scented! Really had not a single complaint. Perfect stay, a pity the tour only stayed one night. Highly recommended.

  Better than American Holiday Inns

  Seriously, American Holiday Inns could learn a thing or two from their Chinese counterparts. Room size was about average, but the bathroom felt HUGE. Good assortment of complimentary toiletries, plentiful outlets, and it was cleaner and the staff friendlier than most Holiday Inns I've been in (they also spoke English). Breakfast buffet was free but sort of bland, and I'd give them a "5" except for the road & construction noise. While they can't do a whole lot about the noise, its detraction from the experience is worth noting. When we were leaving, they called a cab for us & had someone wait outside to make sure we got it, then they made sure we knew how to pay. I'm betting they get a lot of Westerners and expats who maybe don't know how cabs work.
