  Avoid until work is completed

  During Hurricane Harvey in 2017 the ground floor was flooded to a depth of five feet, remedial work is in progress and it affects all the guests. Because of the ongoing inconvenience to all guest this hotel should be closed until it is all up to an acceptable standard Access is diabolical but there is plenty of free parking including some dedicated for the disabled. Reception is huge the counter is long and cookies are available after 15-00 each day. The receptionists are slow and unenthusiastic, allow plenty of time. Our first bedroom, 230. which was about as far from reception as is possible had a handle hanging off a drawer, the clock was not working, the cistern was not filling. We turned it down and moved to 234 which was a little better. Our bedroom 234 was tired, no overhead lighting but it did have a Bible. We had a view of the centrally located pool area. Our corridors were concrete slabs cantilevered off the building with one open side with railings. My disabled wife using crutches was not expected to use the adjacent lift because is spilt out on to the ground floor which was allegedly closed during working hours while the remedial works were in progress. The bathroom contained the toilet and shower over bath. The washbasin was in the adjacent foyer. Tiling was tired with some missing grouting. I missed that all meals in this full service hotel was chargeable extra including breakfast. Breakfast was not taken. The unheated pool had plenty of sun-lounger, tables and chairs around.

  Awful, stinky

  We had 4 rooms and all of they smelled really bad, like thy had been flooded moldy stunk the pool was not clean, the front desk was slow and rude. Don't really have anything good to say about this hotel

  Reasonably priced stay conveniently close to hospital...

  While needing to be in Port Arthur for a couple of days, we stayed at this hotel after checking out a couple of others that we thought were overpriced. We did notice, as others mention, that there is still considerable remodeling going on- fitness center was unavailable. Would have preferred included breakfast, which apparently they used to have, but walked to a very nice breakfast place right across the street. We had a quiet, restful stay on an upper floor. Our room seemed clean and well-maintained, though the hotel as a whole is dated. Microwave and refrigerator in room were helpful, though frig wasn't cooling well. Would possibly stay again if in town.

  Bad Business!

  I had multiple rooms for several nights booked here. We were evacuated due to Hurricane Delta approaching. We were told they would refund the nights which never happened. They will not return phone calls either. Sad that they would take advantage of people during a hurricane catastrophe!

  Horrible Cleanliness and Front desk

  Went to check in and as you can see from the sign it said they had rooms for 69. Called from the parking lot and they said they were sold out of those rooms but had availability for 114 plus tax. Unloaded my stuff and went in and then was told it was going to be 145 a night. Too tired to argue. Checked in and went into the hotel room. Went to get a shower and notice the soap missing and looked in the shower to find a hair on it. Called the front desk which refused to answer. Got out of the shower to find a dirty towel hanging on the back of the door. This during Covid when they are supposed to be cleaning. Went downstairs the next morning to ask to get room for the 2nd night to be canceled and was told they could not. Asked for my room to be cleaned. That night show up again to find the same dirty hairy soap and the towel. Guy at front desk sees me on elevator ignores me as he goes to the 4th floor and says goodnight to the other guest like I did something wrong. This hotel used to be good, old but nice staff and clean. I pray you all read this and do NOT give them your business. UNCLEAN AND RUDE!!! And this was during the time when the hurricane was going to hit. They kept changing the prices every ten minutes. They should be ashamed of themselves.
