Very nice hotel & locationWe loved the location close to campus and many restaurants here in Tempe. The hotel was clean and had nice amenities including a safe lock box in our room. Very modern and up to date. Highly recommend staying here and the rates were very reasonable for the 4th of July night.

Terrible Customer ServiceMy daughter is a student at California Lutheran and drove to Phoenix with a friend October 29-31. I allowed her to be somewhat independent and she made her own reservations. She chose this hotel because it was close to ASU and the friend they were visiting. Traffic was worse than expected leaving LA and they did not get to the hotel until approximately 12:30 AM. Upon arrival, she presented her drivers license as well as her American Express card and was told by the front desk clerk that because she was not 21 she could not honor the reservation. My daughter ended up in tears. She went back to talk with the desk clerk to find out about a refund and to also ask if they were any hotels in the area that would accept an 18-year-old guest. Unfortunately, she made the reservation through a third-party booking agent so I understand why she was told that The Holiday Inn could not process her refund but then the front desk clerk then told her she was not familiar with the area and had no idea where else she might be able to stay. Keep in mind that it was 1 oclock in the morning. And shes telling an 18-year-old that she cannot be a guest at the Holiday Inn and has no idea what she supposed to do. At that point I got a phone call from my daughter desperately needing my assistance to find a hotel for the evening. When I contacted the front desk clerk she was extremely rude and obviously irritated by the situation. I was direct and demanded to know why she would turn away an 18-year-old with a fully paid reservation and why an exception could not be made under the circumstances. She said an exception would not be made and when I mentioned our decision to try the Holiday Inn even though we are Hilton honors members, she said well then maybe she should go stay there and hung up on me. The lack of customer service was unacceptable and shocking. When I called back to ask for her name as well as her managers name so I could email a complaint, she did not answer the phone. I attempted to call back three times. I was able to find accommodations for my daughter at the Hampton Inn. They could not have been more accommodating and understanding of the situation. I was reminded why I am a Hilton honors member and why I choose to stay at the Hilton properties. In an attempt to have her be independent and have her handle these reservations on her own, there were several lessons learned in that process. Unfortunately, one of them is that our family will never stay at a Holiday Inn property. The lack of customer service was shocking and something I have never experienced in any of my travels.

DisappointedStayed two nights while on college interviewing trip. I should have spent $30-40 more per night for better accommodations. Hotel seemed refurbished but walls were thin, children and others cruising the halls at night, and somehow didnt seem as comfortable as we have experienced at other Holiday Inn Express sites. Breakfast was within pandemic guidelines...throw a few plastic wrapped things in a bag with a piece of fruit and there you are.

Great Service and PropertyI stayed here on the last night of my Arizona trip. Its convenient to the airport and many great restaurants. The lady at the front desk was very helpful with getting me oriented as to where the shops and restaurants were. The room was clean and inviting. The beds were nice as well and I got a restful sleep. This is definitely a property I will consider on future trips to the Phoenix area.
