  VERY NICE HOTEL :)

  I stayed at this hotel for on week in easter. I had a very nice time. First of all this is a very nice hotel. Way too nice to be called Holiday Inn. The hotel looks very new, the rooms are lovely. The housekeeping does an excellent job. The are many bathroom amentities. The hotel has many facilities swimming pool, spa, bowling, 4 restaurants, bar,business centre. The only thing missing is a gym.They have really cool birds by the reception greeting you saying Ni Hao. They also have some parrots 3, and some fish in aquarium outside the karaoke bar The karakoe bar has a really big screen. the hotel is also close to golf club and equestrian centre. At the lake view cafe its very nice to sit and watch the duck pond. Not everyone of the staff speaks english, but they always got somebody you spoke english to help me when necessary. Also all the menus have an english version. I ate at the lake view cafe and the food was of very high quality. I also went to the spa, which is beautiful and the massage was very good though very expensive. it is nice to go for walks around the area of the hotel. The area is in Tongzhou around 22 kms from central beijing. Shopping in Tongzhou is a cheaper than in central Beijng. So I went shopping there. The hotel was very helpful in getting taxis when I wanted to go to Beijing. All in all I had a really nice time at this hotel.

  Why would any Westerner go?

  Spent the day and it was the typical Chinese version of a western resort. The architecture is a mixture of everything. French, English country, Egyptian etc. The decorations are what they think the west looks like. We went to the Lakeview cafe which is not a lake but a pond. Again an odd mixture of French and Egyptian motifs. My friend's Chinese noodles came quickly while my hamburger took another 35 minutes. We were the only two people in the place. We then wandered endless long stretches of marble corridors and never saw another person. Again, why go??

  Unusual Holiday style resort within the city

  This hotel gives strange second feelings... It is certainly grandiose in concept, marble floors , exotic caged birds, concierge with turban at door, attentive smiling service at reception, sumptuous couches in lounges... However from the outside it is rather ugly in spite of some efforts at garden decor and the surrounding area is nothing... It is located far away from anything walkable, litterally in the midde of fields, so a car is a must! It is convenienly placed to reach the airport in about 40 min. Without trafic jams. This having been said, the rooms are not big , even the "superior"I had , and a bit outdated in concept, furnishings , applications and decor, more 3/4 stars style. There are no elevators in hotel so access to first floor rooms is by using the stairs, a bit of a nuisance. Breakfast is set in the usual chinese buffet fashion array of oriental foods, not to european early morning palate , a very reduced selection of breads, just some small containers of butter and honey, no ham or cheese. Greasy overfried eggs arein the buffet display if you dare to touch them! Some fruit, bad orange juice, drinkable coffee. Not a very interesting or apetizing experience. The hotel seeed to be quite empty. If you are a shopper forget this option, Beijing is almost one hour away by car or taxi. The Spa here is beutiful and is decorated in quite a luxury way but prices are high for Chinese standards.

  I love it!

  Cuando estás viajando por China, y andas x muchos pueblos, añoras encontrar un lugar seguro y que te sientas cómodo! Eso fue lo que me pasó, seguridad, todo funciona, todo bonito, limpio y funcional! La atención increíble, y siempre una sonrisa! Muchas flores, y todo fluye! El entorno no es lo más Turistico, pero puedes salir a caminar sin miedo! Y relativamente cercano de todo! Tomamos varios tours y arrendamos chofer x el día completo y todo bien! No nos cobraron demás, o sea buena experiencia! Si viajo de nuevo seguro que tono el mismo ...
