Nice hotel but not the best cleaning jobs and some Covid-19 issuesNice staff, nice hotel, very nice facilities and quality of room, lobby, entertainment, location. A few downsides - our room was not cleaned super well-- found crumbs and food stains on desk. Hair in shower. Also no cleaning staff were wearing masks and some of the reception staff were not wearing masks either....

Poor Management Especially Front DeskBeen staying at this hotel at least 10 times a year for the past 15 years even before it became a resort. The hotel is beautiful but this year they have some serious management issues. Specifically, Heather the front desk manager is so difficult that I have to spend a lot of my time working around her. She never asks your room preference at check in. She assigns the room and if you ask for a higher floor or a room facing the lake she says there are none available even though she doesn't bother to look. So I have to wait until she is off duty and ask front desk for a room change. Low and behold the room location I requested is available and the change is made. This happened at least twice and one other time when I needed adjoining rooms. Also they stopped giving out the Holiday Inn kids eat free coupons because of covid. Not sure what that has to do with covid but that's the excuse I was given. Can't wait for the return of Charlie at the front desk; he is desperately needed!!!

TERRIBLE hospitality-front desk is AWFUL!- I will never go backWe stayed 8/29/20 & 8/30/20-There are a few pros so lets do that first: If COVID didn't exist it offers nice family stay with activities for kids on site including a small basketball court and race cars/jungle gym type of facility and indoor pool and onsite restaurant. But that facility was closed. Pool was open with limited people at a time had to make a reservation. CONS: Restaurant is closed for breakfast due to COVID because it is a buffet. I had booked the room with breakfast so getting the credit back was challenging with the front desk-they gave it to me-but with serious attitude-no apologies-just condescending attitude like I am the one that did something wrong. But lunch and diner is outdoor dining where they serve you so we were told that was open but it was a guessing game if it is open for dinner-Restaurant was supposed to open at 4:00 we were standing there waiting and finally asked front desk if it will open and they said "thats what they told us that's all we know" and then they ignored us and went to typing on their computer. We waited 5 more minutes and asked them if they could call someone and find out if it will open we got the same robotic answer and they went back to their computer and literally ignored us-so they basically didn't care and made no effort to find out if their guests good eat there. The front desk is rude, sarcastic and not helpful for anything what so ever. Terrible attitudes, no idea what the term customer service means-it was hospitality at its worse. Housekeeping NOT WEARING MASKS. I saw front desk staff walking through hallways with no mask and entering rooms. The whole vibe and energy from the first 5 minutes of entering was cold and hostile. I have traveled a lot and have been to many Holiday Inns-this one was by far the worst-#1 on the worst Holiday INN only because of the (lack of) hospitality-because the premises are very nice and clean. But I am definitely going to write to corporate-and I will never go back here! This was our first time since February staying at a hotel and we did not feel safe with what we saw. This place needs NEW MANAGEMENT with experienced staff that knows the hospitality industry. The people there seem UNTRAINABLE. No common sense. You are better off paying a little extra and staying on the island this place is not worth the 15 minute drive to LBI.

Covid times--- Customers mixed mask use-- GREAT SERVICE STORYSo we made reservations on Hotwire-- somehow cannot leave a review on holiday inn website (they can't find our confirmation number after we stayed there 2 nights in room 302) We arrived Labor day saturday 9/5 and checked out 9/7 As we drove to on Saturday one of our bikes fell of the bike rack because one of the straps broke... so we asked the service desk for a screwdriver possibly.. the female automatically said no they didn't have ( of course on hand ) so I asked possibly maybe the next day anyone ? anybody ? Then there was this older gentleman Bruce-- he said possibly in the maintenance office took him 2 trips on the elevator because he forgot where the office was. Then low and behold he found one and went up to our room with us . When we got to the room one of the key cards didn't work (frequent for us was the 3rd time) he went down AGAIN to get replacement key card... He waited outside our door while we repaired the pedal (turns out we could've near died because it was extremely loose) then asked if everything turned out alright. He was extremely caring and really a nice gentleman wasn't about the job just being a good person..... REALLY APPRECIATE IT BRUCE!!!!! before this whole thing--- there was younger gentleman who checked us in-- my husband checked in before me --- we had to make 2 trips because of the bikes-- we kept them inside the room with us--- so thats at least extra 10 minutes that i talked to this young guy and asked him how much the wine was in the little convenience corner-- he said they were $25 and the restaurant had to ring us up for it.... HE HAD NO MASK ON THE ENTIRE TIME AND EVEN CAME OUT AND TALKED TO ME FROM BEHIND THE PLEXIGLASS THEN THERE WAS A FEMALE PATRON WITH HER KID THAT CAME IN THE ELEVATOR AND SAID SHE FORGOT HER MASK IN THE CAR >>>> HOURS LATER AFTER DINNER AND RETURN TO HOTEL I SAW HER WITH A BUNCH OF KIDS AND STILL NO MASK (not the fault of the hotel i guess what can you do)
