  Holiday Inn is a Step Above Many Others

  Easy to get into, well appointed rooms.We had a walk in shower. I cant remember any other similar hotel having one. And the sheets were as soft as can be. Although expensive, the breakfasts were very good. We were able to eat outside which was lovely. Waitress a delight. And the bacon perfectly crisp that rarely happens.

  A very bad experience.

  It was one of the worst stays we've had at any hotel in the last ten years, and we travel a lot. We were put in a handicap accessible room that had no closet to hang our clothing, the refrigerator did not function, the TV was not working, and the tub was incredibly slippery. Two of the assistant managers did what they could to correct several of the problems, but the slippery tub remained a problem. It was so slippery that my Lady fell in the shower and hurt her back and knee.... she had to consult a doctor, and the Friday morning manager ( General Manager Jim) was so insensitive as to not even ask how she was doing after falling, and proceeded to argue with her that there was nothing wrong with the room! Also to round out the experience, George, our waiter in the restaurant was very unpleasant.... some 'politeness training' would really help.! I doubt there is anything that could be done to bring us back to this hotel. Do yourself a big favor, look elsewhere. An absolute zero out of ten for our experience.

  Selective review selection by management

  We stayed at the Holiday Inn express in Johnstown, NY in late August 2019. Aside from the bathroom being dirty, with tepid water temperature and stuck sink drain, the front door to our room would not close. Our room remained open the entire evening as management could not fix it claiming it was due to high humidity. When we wrote a review they solicited from us on their IHG proprietary website, they refused to print it. Now we understand how they hav a 4.5/5 rating on their website..... selective editing???? I definitely would not recommend this hotel as management was SOOOO unresponsive to our needs. When we wrote to Holiday Inn Corporate division they proved equally circumspect about their review policy claiming hotel management had a right to print a review or take other action to resolve a problem at their location.

  Food was not so good and waitress was not so good.

  The food was not so good. It was very dry. When the waitress asked how the food was and she was told that this dish is very dry and not pleasing she just fluffed it off and acted like it was nothing to hear that. However, the setting was very nice.

  Super Clean, Well Lighted, Renovated Hotel

  WOW, what a difference $20 makes! Said another guest - they had also tried a different local hotel and were disappointed by the lack of sanitization. We moved to the Holiday Inn and were happy to see the terrific clean rooms, COVID 19 practice sin place, lovely and clean rooms. We will return to see family and plan to stay at the Holiday Inn again. They have an electiric car charging station, pool and restaurant on property too.
