  Great Front Desk Staff

  After a very stressful drive and being stuck in traffic because of an accident the front desk staff was a breath of fresh air when I checked in. They were upbeat, funny, and really changed my attidtue. The room was beautiful. It was super clean and had up to date furnishings and ammenities. This is a great place to stay and a good location too.

  Clean quiet and convenient

  Located in the NE corner of us75 and Sam Rayburn tollway. Close to restaurants. Very quiet hotel even on the front facing the freeway. Stayed twice this month. Updated rooms with plenty of power outlets and lights. Rooms are clean have nice bedding. Fast internet and good tv selection.

  Apparently Neglected by Corporate

  Pros: Staff was polite, nice lobby Cons: Breakfast was $6 with few options, Pool not open, Paper thin walls,loud neighbors, Vending machine and ice machine were inoperable on all floors, Only one out of two public computers works in business center area, Refrigerator doesn't work and has a pungent smell to it and hasn't been cleaned for quite some time, No "Do not disturb" sign provided for room (I called the front desk to be told they would place one on my room door, but they never did).

  It could have been much better

  I was in town for the week on personal business and meeting a friend for "girl time". We chose to extend our stay in McKinney another day, and the hotel we were staying at did not have availability. We booked the Holiday Inn. Things happen, but it is the way the staff handles these "things" that can make or break your stay. Check-in was easy and efficient. Oscar was pleasant and even extended a nice courtesey to us. We also met with Meera upon check-out who was very nice. Once in the room, we needed ice. So my friend went to the location on our floor (4) and it wasn't working. Went to 3rd floor and it wasn't working. The 2nd floor had a sign to go to the 3rd or 4th floor. She came back to room to call for ice, and there was no phone. I was already downstairs asking for shampoo and soap! Now, I had to go back downstairs regarding the ice. I had the unfortunate opportunity to speak with Didi at the front desk, who was not happy that I asked her for ice. Then when she returned I explained we didn't have a phone. She confirmed my room number. Nearly 6 hours later, still no phone. I went down to retrieve our pizza that was delivered and I advised her that we still did not have a phone. She asked if I was room #405, I said yes. She replied "oh, you will not be getting one because we don't have a cord for it". I asked her when was she going to advise us, and her response was "why would I advise you"??? This was unacceptable to me! The room was noisy, by elevator. No amenities, the sheets were worn and dingy. The bathroom had a tub and secondary lighting, which was nice.

  No towels? No clean!

  First I would like to say that the room was fine and the staff good to ok. I have never stayed at any hotel that has been out of towels for 3 days. I had 2 towels for the 8 days I have been here. In addition, there has been no maid service except to take my towels and not return them! I have stayed in dozens of Holiday Inn's during full fledged disasters and not had these issues(even during the pandemic). Tomorrow I will have to buy towels as there are none. I will also buy cleaning supplies and tools to clean the room. Unacceptable!
