  Es un hotel para estar un par de días y sabiendo que es poco el tiempo que uno está en el mismo. El servicio en front desk debe ser mejorado en cuanto a disposición de servicio y aumentar opciones en desayuno. Por ejemplo incluir el jugo y otras bebidas.

  A very pleasant two-night stay at the Holiday Inn

  I really liked the Holiday Inn in Gurnee. We were selling our house in Antioch and needed to stay two nights somewhere after our furniture was picked up by the moving co and the closing. The room was super clean! The bed linens were very nice and it was beyond quiet...always a plus. The breakfast was $5 a person per day, which is a great deal considering the buffet was very nice and the omelets were delicious. The room was well insulated and that was a good thing because the heater squealed. We set the temperature up before we went to bed and listened to the squeal and then turned it off for the night and the room stayed comfortable. The front lobby was decorated tastefully for Christmas and check in and out was quick and pleasant. We knocked one star off because our room was a rather far walk and the heater squeal was really annoying. We didn't like that the room didn't provide a microwave or a small fridge. But the main reason we knocked one star off is because of the two double beds. They should have put us two in a king sized room, but claimed they were all out and put us in a room with two double beds. Why two doubles? The room was huge! They could have easily put in 2 queen beds. I would have given them one star less just because of the double beds (very uncomfortable for 2 adults...but the breakfast was so good and so reasonable, we believe a 4-star rating was adequate and fair. Overall we would recommend this hotel and would stay again if we pass through Gurnee again.

  Average hotel with big pool

  Average hotel located minutes from shopping and a large number of restaurants. Rooms were clean and quiet but the hotel could use some updating in the future. Check-in was fast. Working microwave and mini-fridge provided in the room. Best part of the hotel is the big pool and decent hot tub, both of which were clean and not over-crowded when I was there.

  CONVENIENT LOCATION

  We chose this Holiday Inn because of its convenient location to shopping and restaurants. Its right off the freeway, and easy to access. Tried to check in late afternoon (about 2:30 pm) and when I walked in to the hotel, front desk area, there was no one around. No one at the front desk. Ive traveled a lot, and I can honestly say Ive never encountered an empty front desk. I waited a few minutes, thinking to myself theyre possibly on a phone call in back - but after waiting a good 10 minutes and yelling out HELLO- HELLO I was still standing there waiting. I walked around a bit, finally found a friendly face in the laundry area, and she helped me. Once the front desk gal came out, she gave me a snotty can I help you? - and Im thinking really? No Im sorry to keep you waiting? Ugh. Once she started to check me in it did go quickly and smoothly - just frustrating that she never apologized or explained why I was kept waiting. I find it rude and poor customer service. Our room was not anything special - 2 double beds and standard bathroom. The walls are really thin, and we could hear the young kids having fun running up and down the halls (doesnt bother me) and people talking while walking by our room. Our door stated check out was 12 noon, but it was actually 11 am. We were in our room at 11:10 and got a phone call that we needed to leave. All in all - this isnt a bad hotel. The pool is really nice (hot tub was closed due to COVID) and there is a nice restaurant that offered dinner and had a bar that served drinks. Breakfast is an extra $10. We did not get their breakfast. Gurnee is a nice area with a lot of nice restaurants- shopping Mall is also a nice plus. I would stay here again if in the area - and just hope for better check in service!!

  Holiday Inn

  I visited in March of 2021. The location of this hotel is good. Their restaurant was not open, but that was not a big deal since there are many restaurants nearby. The pool was open, but the whirlpool was not due to Covid. I was disappointed in this since the IHG website specifically mentioned the pool and food service, but said nothing about the whirlpool. I had a really nice room, but I did have problems with the water temperature fluctuating during my shower.
