  Quiet, clean and good points redemption

  Nice hotel on route 66. Seems pretty new, looks like the carpets and furnishings are the latest version. Keurig coffee pot. Chase lounge in king room. Showers only in the king rooms, tubs in the double queens. Blackout shades - love em! Good TV selection and VERY fast internet with the latest IHG innovation - auto logon. Slept so well I missed the free breakfast. My only complaint no USB ports. Other than that, a great place to stay outside of Tulsa. 15,000 point redemption. No Spire Ambassador upgrade offered

  The hotel has been updated

  Read some reviews about hotel needing updating and trains. Yes. A train went by at 6:30 pm but that train is going through the whole town, but it is not worth booking here. Over the years, I had put Comfort Inns as first choice but with the updates Holiday Inn are doing, I am definitely coming back to Holiday Inn. The rooms have been updated very nicely and the hotel carpets are beautiful. Also stayed at Ponca CIty Holiday Inn - was updated too.

  Quick trip

  We only stayed here one night, but the hotel is new and very clean. The staff is helpful, friendly and professional. We would stay here again!! Good location; close to Walmart and Starbucks! Also the grab and go breakfast had something for everyone! Loved the rate too!

  Never Again

  So some of my review can be chalked up to bad luck and bad timing. We requested a king room on the top floor (the 4th floor) away from the elevator but because I made my reservation late, we were not able to get that. We accepted a king room on the 3rd floor. We went to the room and upon entering it was hot and the cover covering the thermostat on the wall was literally in pieces on the floor. We called and asked for another room. The manager came up and gave us the room next door. We opened the door to find a complete disaster, it hadn't been cleaned and the manager apologized. How does she not know a room is not ready? Ok so now what? All the time we were out in the hall on the 3rd floor waiting, we could hear a kid running down the hall on the 4th floor and it was loud. That should have been our clue. The manager offers us two queens on the 4th floor, why do we want 2 queens when we booked 1 king? We told her no because we travel with our own memory foam pad because we've had too many rock hard beds. So THEN she offers a suite on the 3rd floor that happens to be very close to the elevator. She should have offered this first instead of the two queens. So tired of all this, we said ok. So we walk in and find the pull down shade up and this room is warm too. It's August, pull those down more so guest walk into a cool room. I would even prefer walking into a dark room if it was cool and not have to wait for it to cool down. The A/C unit in this room has the very bottom section of the unit and the wiring exposed and literally laying on the floor in front of the unit. I can't imagine why it's like that and putting little kids int his room. Seriously!! Just fyi - the suite is not anything luxurious, it's just a little bigger and has a sofa. The hotel has been updated and the rooms are basic and have everything you need. A refrigerator, a microwave, coffee maker etc. The bathrooms are nice, ours did not have the big white vanity in the bathroom, I suspect those pictures are from other properties. Ours had the smaller black speckled vanity as you can see in pictures above. The shower is the most narrow shower of any hotel I have stayed in. Obviously it was a bathtub that they removed and put in just a stand alone shower. If would be a tight squeeze for a wider person. So for the worst part. We could hear the people above us constantly walking around until way past 1:00 a.m. Seriously we were wondering how they never sat down. And it was very very loud. We should have know when we heard how loud it was earlier with the kid running down the hall above us when we were standing out in the hall waiting for our 3rd room. The people above us on the 4th floor sounded like they were stomping but we know they weren't, it was very loud and it went on and on and on. Of course they were up early the next morning walking around again, so we had a terrible night and we will not take a chance and stay here again. During Covid19, the breakfast at all Holiday Inn's is a very limited grab and go, nothing of any real interest or substance. Lastly there is always too much water on the floor from people that leave the pool soaking wet and we encountered it outside the elevators and in the elevators both days, they really need to come up with a solution for this before someone falls. Needless to say, it just wasn't a good stay. Strike 1, 2,3, and 4. You get one chance to keep a guest returning, we gave you 4.

  It was ok....

  We did a quick overnight here. The bed was very comfortable. The grab and go offer some decent choices but not much for my gluten free wife. I thought the hallway carpets on the 2nd floor and in our room could use a good shampoo. A couple of our towels were a bit frayed. Just little things like that.
