  Modern and super cool!!!

  I'm not a "fancy" person but the room set up is modern and super cool!! You can chill on the couch and the table has a pop up section to put your lap top. The room design is really modern and functional. Also a microwave, refrig, and coffee. All the bath products you need (bath and body works) and they even offer (for example, toothpaste) if you forgot yours. Front desk was efficient and friendly and great breakfast! I was pleasantly surprised by the room design (I'm a country girl who doesn't care about modern features) but I loved it! Closest place to get wine is about 10 minutes away depending on traffic. Beer might have been closer.

  Comfortable, friendly, quiet, safe, clean

  Was greeted by a friendly front desk, given my room key. The room is large, clean, and quiet. Breakfast was the usual Holiday Inn Fare, but it was good. Check out was easy. Hand I. The key. Id stay here again.

  Spacious room

  Had a two room suite. The living room area is very spacious. The bedding is comfortable and the sleeper sofa was not too bad. Bathroom is on the small side, located near the front door (not in the bedroom like other hotels) and there is a curved shower curtain rod which prevents the door from opening all the way. Bathroom also needs better lighting. Breakfast was plentiful and warm. Coffee available all day in lobby area. Indoor heated pool was a pleasure to spend time in. It was an actual heated pool not just body temperature. We enjoyed this a lot. Overall, not a bad place.

  Unacceptable

  Lets start with the highlights. The shower was pretty nice, the lighting in the bathroom was quite good, and the nearby airport didnt create too much noise (largely due to being small and of course lack of air traffic due to COVID-19). Now the negatives. The biggest negative was that despite the relatively small amount of travelers at the moment, they somehow managed to overbook the room that my girlfriend and I reserved, and so we walked in to them telling us that the room wasnt available. Under normal circumstances, this would be bad, but considering that we called them two days beforehand just to confirm and they told us that the room was definitely still ours, it was made all that much more appalling. Normally after a screw up like this, a hotel would try to make it right by offering a free night or a half price stay or something like that, but the employees at this hotel were willing to offer almost nothing to make things right. Hotels (including this one) were claiming that they were doing extra cleaning to keep things sanitary due to COVID-19. However, there was no evidence to back this up. My girlfriend actually had to take cleaning wipes and clean a number of parts of the room, including the counters, the toilet seat, and the refrigerator. It was also obviously poorly vacuumed. These would be bad problems in a normal era, but they defy understanding in an era of supposedly heavy cleaning. There was so little water pressure in the toilet that it backed up at one point and I had to go get a plunger to unclog it. Face mask rules were posted, but were not enforced and were only partially followed, including by employees. One employee would regularly stand right outside the front door smoking a cigarette. Do yourself a favor and stay at a decent hotel. This one certainly doesnt qualify.

  Disgusting...HIE Corporate should be ashamed

  We stay at a lot of HIE and it is our favorite chain to stay it. This is by far the worst HIE we've ever stayed at. This owner clearly looks to save money, not serve guests. He cuts corners at every chance. Hotel entrance interior was filthy and stunk like garbage...went back hours later...still stunk...and so did pool entrance area....just like a dumpster. The elevator was like walking on fly paper...my feet literally stuck to the floor. No one at the front counter. First room stunk so they moved us...smelled better...but everything was wrinkled....like cleaning people didnt clean. Looked like they reused the last customers bedding and towels....some of the towels were still wet...and they were just shoved in the shelf. Room had disgusting stains...and broken blinds. Then the really disgusting part...multiple pubic hairs in bath and shower...i really dont think they cleaned room at all let alone to covid standards. We had no choice but to remain here as much of reading was sold out and we were on a motorcycle...if i was in a car i would have left and slept in the car. This isnt even a motel 6 level hotel, let alone what we expect from our favorite hotel chain. I will say the lady who checked us in was very nice and did her best to help us...she even waited patiently while we looked for other hotel options....the woman who came after her was less concerned about customer service....this place is terrible...disgusting....and u can tell it wasnt an off night...its how they do business....no wonder every other hotel was booked and this wasnt...we slept in our clothes
